Not mine, but a beautiful glider, so I took some video:

Sometimes, all you need is a 10-foot high berm if the wind is good.

A new EPO chuck glider I picked up this weekend at Aero Micro for my son. Slightly larger than the Multiplex Fox and less expensive at $9.99. Glides very well, and looks like it has potential as a motorized or slope glider project. I bought the E-Flite Edge 540 QQ, and we joked that you could buy 17 of these gliders for the cost of the E-Flite Edge 540 QQ

I particularly like this sentence from the article: "The Air Swimmer would never have gotten off the ground if English had listened to professors and peers, who warned that making a fin propel a fish through the air was too complicated to undertake. " Waiting for Jackass fans to fill Angry Birds Air Swimmers with hydrogen.

Tried to maiden my Multiplex Dogfighter as a slope glider on Labor Day last week, but there wasn't enough wind. The wind was a lot stronger yesterday

Multiple Weasel Action. Two teams of Weasels had to hit their team's slope gliders with the streamers.

There's something so relaxing yet intriguing about flying a slope glider vs. an electric powered plane. I had some fun on the California coast this summer. What's nice is I also found a small little slope that I can easily ride my bike to.

Finally maidened my Weasel today. A very fun slope glider to fly. It's very stable, yet also maneuverable. And its design is very tough for landings on the slope!

I installed the Cularis spinner on the Dogfighter and here are some two power tests:

Turnigy SK3-3542-1250kv
Thunderbird 54
Voltz 2200 mAh 3S 35C

Graupner 9x6
451 watts
39 amps

424 watts
38 amps

Flew with the Graupner prop last weekend, and the long glide is pretty fun.

I think I might be getting a lower power output on the MAXX props because they seem to be more flexible. Trying to decide now whether to try out a Graupner 10x6 or an Aeronaut 10x8 since the motor can can 55 amps. Or should I just see what happens with the 9x6 with a 4S...

AUW 13.3 oz. Had to add 28 grams to nose to get it to balance. The weasel was tail heavy due to the strapping tape and paint on the fin and monokote on the elevons. Used Rust-o-leum enamel paint on tail, switch cover and belly pan. Star decal and stripe on top from a Multiplex Fun Cub kit. I hope to maiden it this weekend at Coyote Hills in Fremont.

Replaced 11x5.5 with a 13x4 on my Fun Cub with my HeadsUpRC 3536-10 (105g) motor. 30 amps and 330 watts with the 13x4 prop. I love the slow speed flybys with this prop.

I was excited to try slope gliding my Alula and Merlin at the slope site at Waddell Beach last Sunday, but the wind was blowing from the south. The slope site is a cliff facing northwest so the wind was blowing from the opposite direction for optimal lift. I noticed some seagulls hanging off the lift from cliffs that were facing south, but I didnít want to stray too far from the designated slope site that sits on private property. I tried flying my Alula down at the shore, but I just couldnít get it working. Now Iím itching for some real slope flying, and I hope Coyote Hills has some good lift this weekend.

HS-65MG for elevator

Great Planes 2.5 inch spinner

Maidened with an APC 10x7. Will try an APC 10x10 for next flight. Very easy to land and slows down well with prop brake off. Very quiet with balanced prop and spinner backplate.

Tried out the No-Neck Transmitter Suspension Harness for the first time this morning, and I love how it fits. There's no swaying back and forth that you get with a neck strap.
