Want a FC/Rx that's is very cheap($7.5) and small and light?
To use with a cheap light brushless 4in1 ESC ($14) or any brushless ESC for that matter.

It is possible to use this cheap toy flight controller http://www.boldclash.com/p/boldclash...ceiver-54.html
With something like this ESC http://www.boldclash.com/p/boldclash...i_s_esc-4.html
To build a cheap light brushless quadcopter.
I built one here https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...quad-1s-6500kv which weighs 27 grams from bamboo skewers and this information is there too but I've was asked to document this part for ease of finding.

For d shot ( easiest requiring no extra parts but read on because there is reason to not do this with the fishpepper ESC )
Here are the connections made on the bwhoop b03 for d shot or any other protocol in fact , the signal is taken before the fet and no resistors need adding and no capacitor needs removing.

This works great for an ESC which has proper regulators on board, unfortunately the fishpepper 4in1 1s ESC does not so it won't work until battery it at 3.85v, this could possibly be fixed by replacing the regulator on the b03 with a 3.1v ldo type but then brown outs and loss of control may be a problem and sourcing a 3.1v ldo cheaply and quickly seems impossible.

For one shot with signal taken after the fets so that it works with fishpepper 1s 4in1 ESC
Capacitors on ready to be removed

So i finally plucked up the courage to move up from 1s quads and fly my 3s 150 fpv
I was nervous as heck!
My second flight with 3s lipo (3 min 7 sec)

Well actually my second but my first ended too quickly with a prop flying off at great height and ending the flight early, after a few repairs I flew again next day.

At last I'm building this amazing tiny brushless quadcopter which should be around 30 grams ready to fly with camera and battery!
It will be similar to this https://www.boldclash.com/boldclash-...fpv-drone.html ready to fly version but I wanted to build it myself from spares available from boldclash and add my own camera as I enjoy the build just as much as flying.
I reviewed the parts used in these 2 threads bellow.

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...from-boldclash
I'll be noting any problems as I go so others can be prepared but it looks pretty simple, just VERY small!

Right, on with it.

Boldclash b05 frame and 0703 motors arrived!
Just unboxed this tiny little frame and brushless motors and am impressed how small and well made it all is.
I'm going to build a tinyfish type tiny lightest brushless quadcopter based on Simon fishpepper great design and this is a good price from a reputable company who give credit to Simon for his awesome design.
I will be doing a build blog separately but will link over but for now here are some pictures of the parts included with some weights which are unbelievable light!

BoldClash Fish01 Mini SUBS F3 and 4-in-1 1S 4A Blheli_S ESC Flight Controller Tower with built-in SBUS 8CH Receiver for Frsky X9D X7 Dshot 600

For those who don't know it is a very light flight controller and 4in1 ESC with dshot 600 based on Simon fishpepper design and boldclash have given credit to him unlike other manufacturers who took his design and renamed it their own.
I have already got the racerstar 4in1 ESC which is same size but it has a problem with not working on a fully charged lipo so I had to wait maybe 4 minutes for battery to drain via the camera vtx before I could fly on each battery.
So my first test after binding to my taranis ( which was easy, just press bind button and power up with taranis in bind mode d8) was to put a fully charged battery in and this boldclash version worked right away.
So right there are 2 good reasons to buy this one over the racerstar version.

I then did a range test and that was as expected , I tested with taranis is range check mode and was happy with the result, I think the 200m range stated with be about right and plenty enough for the tiny build this will be used for.
Weight is something like 4.2 to 5 grams but that will depend on...Continue Reading
