Summer FPV (Flown With DragonLink) (8 min 25 sec)

For anyone planning to use the kiss 24amp carrier pdb on the F1-5 . You need to make some mods to put the inner stand offs forward and aft abit. The front top slots do not line up with the bottom. Also for the back there are 2 holes on the bottom but none on the top. Little drilling and filing does the trick.

Was sent this little drone to test, for the price its pretty cool.

Hey everyone, well its that time of year again when most of the snow dwellers spend more time building then flying. This year i decided to pick up a Skywalker Condor 1880mm wingspan from BevRC.

Kit was well packed with minor shipping damage. A few dings here and there but nothing major. They need to start shipping with the BIG CF wing spar taped to the inside wall of the box then to the foam bubble wrap. Some people have had a lot of score makes across there wings etc. As we all know there is nothing better then a new foam model. Opening a box to find packaging damage is quite disheartening.
These are some earlier videos when i made the DIY Headtracker. Plans are to use it with the scale cockpit.

Hello everyone!!

Been awhile sense I've done a review on my blog. With summer creeping by, spending the most time i can outside flying is consuming a lot of it.

Last week i picked up a fairly new model from FlyZone called the Tidewater. I've wanted a plane that i could take off from a pond for sometime now. There are a few on the market, but when i seen this one i jumped at it.

The plane went together in a short amount of time. Within 30mins you can be on the lake. I had a scale LED kit from Hobby King now for sometime and i thought this would be the perfect candidate.

A few things to note though. Stock ESC has been known to fail. Mine was super hot on the day of hand launch trim flight. Temps that day were high 80s with no wind. Boy did the stock esc hot... abeiante temp on the planes wing mid 90s. Battery was 11OF. 3-4 mins after the flight the temp on the heat sink was 125f...so I'm thinking it was mid 13Of during the flight.

The heat sink of the esc was facing inwards, with the Velcro covering it. Due to no air flow, i can see this being a issue, which it is.
I swapped out the stock esc for a Hobby King 40-50A speedy, which has a nice big heat sink on it. It don't pull anywhere near the 50A, but the heat sink helps a lot. I also wait 5 min between flights to let it cool down.

Just 2 pictures of the 1.2 CL and SPW antennas i made. They work awesome. Best thing, the tolerances are greater and still get great performance. Compared to say the 5.8's i made. Which are a PIA to make.

I put my Quadcopter in a few weeks ago. So had to build a new one.
This time wanted folding arms, the arm broke on the last one,resulting is atotalled frame.
Now with foldable/removable arms, in the event of a crash. Its as easy as replacing a arm vs the entire frame.


The frame is based on the Elcheapo Home Depot" basswood and ply frame.

I used a 6''x 12'' 1/8 Ply Cut in half for a 6''x 6'' Main frame.
The arms are 10mmx10mm 36'' stock. The come in a variety of sizes.
This time i decided to shorten up the arms by 1'' making them 13''. The arms are in the Quad's "Main body 3''. Which gives a 10'' arm.

Using 4 #6 1/1/2'' bolts, they well act as the pivot point for the arms to fold inward, to the back and to the front! I used 2 washers, locking washer plus a wing nut.
The wing nut well allow for easy tightening and loosing of the arms for transportation, storage, also it well give, if there is ever a mishap.

On my last ECHD quad, i glued the arms directly to the 6''x6''ply. It was pretty darn tuff, i used the new Gorilla Super Glue. Boy is that stuff strong. Sets in about 30 secs and is crazy strong, its light and drys clear.
I highly recommend it

So back to the build.

Cutting eight 2'' blocks, i glued 2 too each end of the arms. Giving enough area to mount the motors later.

The way i lined up the arms to be perfect(as good as i could get) was a bit tricky.
