I flew the Champ yesterday and i am very very impressed .. This evening i started on some floats and have one finished .. you would figure something small with few parts would be easy to put together but no0o0o0o0o after about 30+ minutes of just glueing and fitting together i have one finished ..

They are about 9 3/4 inches long and hollow .. I built them from fiddlersgreen float plans..

I laid out the templates on foam and am now ready to cut them out ..

Anyone that knows me is well aware of my obsession with flying boats but inparticular the Grumman Goose .. I designed my own way way back and made several then Fiddlersgreen came out with a Goose that has better lines and curves than mine ..

I have a 42 inch version already in progress and has been for over a year .. I have the retracts for the tipfloats now and a nice matched pair of outrunners for it .. sooooo maybe i will make some progress on it..

so now the 24 inch goose is ready to be cut out and i am getting sleepy soo i will post more photos later ..

This is what i get for watching Tales of The Gold Monkey again(Which came out on DVD June 8th)

I have recently started working with smaller wingspan planes thanks to Ubildit .. He gave me the electronics to a PZ mini Sukhoi ..
I put together a make shift hotwire setup to cut the bluecor in half thickness wise.. I have managed to set it up so i get 2 pieces 2.5 mm thick which gives me double parts when i slice them.. I am using paper model plans from Fiddlersgreen.net , Bobscardmodels , ecardmodels and Kampfflieger.webs.com ..

I have started several new planes in the 16-24 inch span for indoor flying and hopefully for the JR indoor flyin in nov .. First was an F3F (cant remember where its from, its been on my hard drive for years .. Second is an SBC-4 HellDiver from Ecardmodels.. I resized the plan and modified it a bit for foam construction.. Next is from good old fiddlersgreen.net I am working on a Sikorsky S-38 for the indoor lake at the JR and also i am working on a 24 inch Grumman Goose from fiddlersgreen ..

I also have plans that i am modifying of a Boeing 314 clipper a Sikorsky S-40 and a few other flying boats all in small spans.. Ya really have to love the ar6400 from spektrum its making so much more possible now..

Here are a few photos of what i have been up to .....Continue Reading

After what appears to be quite awhile i finally notice that my quote under my name had Balsa Builder on it .. now i have no idea how that got there .. i would rather leave the hobby than put that on .. i have since fixed the problem .. which just makes me wonder who the prankster is ..ohwell i dont have to wonder there are 2 people that know .. myself and the person that did it .. Paybacks are Hell ..

Been in the midst of a builders burnout .. i just cant figure out what to build nor can i force myself to start building or continue an old project ..
I hope to get past this point soon ..
