we all are so accustomed to transistors, and could not live without them, but, what on earth are they?
there is an article at wiki:
but on it they say that: 'The term transistor was coined by John R. Pierce as a contraction of the term transresistance. '
on the other hand, national geographic provides another explanation that, to me, is more believable.
it was explained in the "100 scientific discoveries" issue/page 27: "This technology transfers current across a material that normally has high resistance (in other words, a resistor); hence, it is a transfer resistor, shortened to transistor."

Just been informed that there is a boldclash b06 whoop on its way to me which is a total redesign of the b05 with a aio FC and ESC and should be a great indoor brushless quad at last, just in time too hopefully because it's getting a bit cold outside here in the UK!

I've looked at specs and reviews and it seems like it should be great for indoors with the prop guards but still have enough power to have some fun outside too, though obviously not as much as my 2s bamboo rocket which is just waaay too fast for indoors or even the garden lol..

Edit, first Los video

Howdy gang -

Here is a 'cheap' little car I have been running recently - the $53 XLH 9120. This is another body/wheel style on the 911* platform. I am not sure if XLH is the OEM, or someone else, but these 911* cars are all over Amazon and ebay, sold under several brand names, and they are all basically the same aside from the body and tires.

Get it here -

Pluses- -
Proportional steering and throttle
Full bearings!
Big enough to run around the yard and light off-road.
Fast enough for a young kid
Tough (So far)

Cons -
Odd battery
On/Off switch is under the odd battery door, which is under the body.
Servo not upgradable without custom work.

Full review -

I maintain my blog on Blogger, so I will just occasionally post updated links here.

I updated my crude ground station UHF repeater with a BEC so that I can plug in basically any battery to power the Dragon Link transmitter and the OrangeRX 2.4 GHz receiver.

The Hanger contains (in order of preference!):
3S Polaris - an awesome plane. I will have one of these for as long as my thumbs can twiddle. Thanks WormBoy for alerting me to the design and Steve Schumate for sharing the plans. I have coupled aileron servos for insane maneuvers, well beyond my flying ability!
4S Durafly Mk1a - another awesome plane. The Polaris only pips it because it is more versatile. I cannot say how impressed I am with the Durafly Mk1 - it looks good, flies superbly and I love it. I just need to learn to land it reliably.
3S 3DLabPrint P-38 - a clear PLA print of 'Glacier Girl', the P-38 salvaged from a Greenland Glacier and restored to flying condition. A couple of firsts here: first twin, first 3D Printed aircraft, first jointly owned plane with my son! Flies brilliantly, the guys at 3DLabPrint have done a fantastic job.
3S /4S Dynam Spitfire Mk9 - This was a HK bargain I think circa 2014. My first RC warbird. It had a hard start to life because my flying abilities weren't up to it. It has had some major crashes but just keeps on flying. The landing gear has been raked forward and it's been completely repainted. Have upgraded the ESC to a 70A unit and with 4S it has PLENTY of power for big scale looking maneuvers. It would go vertical oos now but I'd be worried the wings would come off and why would you fly a warbird like that anyway?!
1S Adam Woods T-70 X-wing - His own design using differential thrust and elevons. Looks amazing and is a...Continue Reading

Hi there, got a bit of work done.
All formers for the fuselage are ready cut.
Now the fiddling starts to get them all together to something that resembles a fuselage.
