Guys,

For those that take-off and land their Trojans on Smooth Hard surface then, I have a real nice modification for you all.

Seriously, I just got feed UP with fixing my Trojan's Nose Wheel Plastic retainer and hair-line crack on the round bottom retainer (Firewall) where the NOSE Wheel "wire" strut goes in. Not to mention the occasional Plastic Steering arm during those really bad landings.

Taking this idea from another member that sold me the Flyzone Millennium Master, he sold it to me with Hobby King spring loaded strut on the Nose Wheel. Let me tell you the Spring Loaded Nose wheel strut will absorb those less than perfect landings.

The Wire I used was from an old Trojan Main Gear and I used bolt cutters to trim the main landing wire to the appropriate length then, fit checks and paying attention to the pitch angle.

Additionally, I inspected the entire model and found that the Left Aileron was coming out from the foam molded cavity. Since I don't have the factory glue, I settled on using some Gorilla Wood Glue and made sure I reached in and applied (glue) underneath the servo.

Guys,

You can visit my Blog containing my Modifications for using the E-Flite P-47 Jug's Checker Board Cowling at:
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=2539697

As promised, here are some super in-flight pictures of my PZ P-47 Jug using the new E-Flite P-47 Checker Board Cowling.

My Buddy Gerry (simano) took these and the conditions were heavy overcast so, was forced to shoot at ISO 1600 which adds quite a bit of noise and dulls the contrast...but the idea was to show off the new cowling which I think shows on these.

Take-Off Roll.....

Into the Cloudy Sky!

Guys,

Okay, just sharing my installation of the new E-Flite P-47 "COWLING" onto my old but, reliable Snorting Bull by Park Zone!

I took me 35 minutes to paint, 5 minutes to tape and another 5 minutes to clean-up so, less than one (1) hour!
