Being a beginner rider, this bike stole my heart. It beat the SV650 as my all time favorite bike. I think this is because, unlike price-conscious bikes like the SV650 and Shadow 750, the Honda Stateline was designed with gobs of [I]passion[/B]. It's one of the gems in the bike world. It can fit short-ish and large riders.
Just don't say that out loud, about the passion. You might miss out on a lot of great smaller cc bikes or pee off those who are speedier racers than you (I'm talking to you, Bunny)

The Stateline unfairly gained a 1-up, having a higher price limit. This allows designers and engineers some wiggle room to show off. It's also an evolution of the previous model VTX1300 line. That's okay with me, life not being fair is a 'positive' in the case of the VT1300 line. I usually wouldn't buy a $10,000+ usd bike. But God gave us the
used market 
oh and it was $40/mo less than the SV--so-no-brainer!
With a long low look, radiator neatly nestled into the cradle frame, big phat tires, stretched rake, and stretched stylized tank that doesn't make you open your legs to ride, this bike whispers 'mmmmmmmmmm yahhh mmmmmmm'. Anyone who enjoys motorsports can stare into the engine and daydream for 5 minutes. They really should, it soithes the soul.
I've seen it, myself not included but including certain family members and passerbys. Just stop, maybe even stop breathing, and stare. "Mmmmmmmmmm."
