This is just nuts.

I was all bent out of shape because I could not track my 680 kit, so I fired an email off to the vendor about the "bad" tracking number.

My next stop was eBay so I could put in some less than positive feed back. I scrolled through my purchase history and when I came to the 680 kit I saw this 20 digit tracking number... DHL uses 10 digit numbers....

So I figured what the heck let'play.

I did a copy and paste with the whole 20d digits and got nada, so I separated the first 10 and the last 10 with a comma and a space...

Bingo! The second set gave me some excellent news! My kit will be delivered by the end of the day!!!

Apparently the original number I thought was a tracking number is actually the shipper's reference number.

On Feb.10th I got a message from eBay saying my kit had shipped. I also got a message from the vendor with a DHL tracking number, and this statement:

"We estimate that your order will be delivered around 2015-02-16 . For more details, please check the table below.
The tracking information will appear on DHL's website in a few hours."

Well, it has been 6 days and the tracking number cannot be found by DHL. NOT a good sign.

USPS dropped off some parts today, so now I have the canopy, some male and female bullet connectors, 5 pairs of XT60 connectors, a GPS/motor mount plate, a battery mounting plate, and some 9" servo extension....

I already posted to Multirotor Talk, so I'll just say that my build time has been extended because Tarot motors are in short supply....

On a better note, I have a "Helping Hands" rig, some 63/37 solder(more expensive, but its my preferred alloy), a Kester Flux Pen, and some solder wick coming from Amazon.

Well, the ordering is pretty much over and since USPS just dropped off the batteries, I guess its time to get started.

I'll be using an APM 2.6 with GPS, Sonar Low Altitude sensor, and 915mHz radios for telemetry. The 680 will be carrying the 2 axis gimbal and SJ4000 clone that is currently on my X525 quad.

For this build I have ordered the following:

680 "ARF" Kit

GPS Mount

Battery Mount

Canopy

And some other bits and pieces like silicone wire, XT60 plugs, these batteries; 4S 5200mAh Lipo, and Navigation Strobes.

I'm going to try to take my time and document my progress as best as I can and I hope Y'All enjoy.
