So, going to try to replicate Rob Caso's beautiful built up balsa Bulldog in foam. The plan is to cover in FG and epoxy resin for solid finish. Slow going so far this fall - trying to get some last flights in of the season before the snow flies and it gets too cold to move the gimbals. Building should speed up over these late fall/winter months.

Here was my entry for the MAN Build Contest this past year. I heard from MAN that we'll see the winner and other entries in the March 14' issue. So, we have a ways to go yet to find out who won.

My goal was to come up with a design that stayed true to the original base plans but was still a departure from the norm. I picked a very rarely modeled subject, the Grumman Duck and I'm VERY happy with the results. She ROG's easily and as soon as we get a thaw around here I can't wait to try a ROW.

Well, it had been many years since I built with balsa or flew a balsa plane for that matter. So I came across free plans for Pat Tritle's Shoestring. I always loved the lines of this vintage racer and the thought of free plans in a size perfect for my hanger was too tempting. Note to self: Free plans does not equate to inexpensive model

Getting ready to cover her in classic Yellow with red trim. Will post specs in a bit....Link to the Shoestring thread: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...6#post16031612

Where I've been spending a lot of my time lately. Currently in the hanger from oldest to newest....ESky HBFP V1 with many mods, Helimax AxeCP3 converted back to non-bell hiller, and the ESky Belt CP V2 with full metal head and tail and fiberglass main blades.

The HBFP has become my favorite go to heli, seems the emotional investment is fairly low compared to the Belt and therefore not afraid to let it fly...

Added some pics of my fourth Heli..a HK250 ! She's small but very capable. Now that I have it on my DX7 it much more responsive. It pirors at insane speeds !!!

Here's a recently posted video of my Belt CP in FFF...
