My good buddy, BuckarooVT90, bought this UMX Habu from our LHS yesterday during lunch time break. Since we still have at least 15 minutes left before going back to work, we decided he will do the unboxing and maiden flight all at the same time.

My iPhone 5 recorded the event and he did the editing on his mini Ipad. Enjoy!.

He loves it and you will too.

I got this Robbe Skyflex kit last year from an RCGroups member. Through out the winter season, I slowly built her up. Instead of using the hunky brushed motor that came with the kit, I used a brushless GForce outrunner with a matching 30A ESC driving a 9x4 APC prop. Steering is done via a Futaba S3003 servo. With a Spektrum RX and an 1800mah 3s 25C lipo, the onboard pilot was all smiles in the summer sun. Of course, only after the initial "pilot's error" occurred.

Here's a video of the maiden flight. Enjoy.

After reading reviews, blogs, and watching videos, I decided to get one of these awesome 50mm edfs made by SkyAngel or JPower.
I bought the F-16 EPO unpainted airframe from HobbyB.com. I got the stock motor/fan/ESC combo from another RCGroup member.
I flew it last weekend with my good buddy, BuckarooVT90, on the video controls and I was amazed at how easy you can fly this F16.

Here's the video.

On to the next SkyAngel 50mm EDFs. I just ordered the A-4 SkyHawk from Toysonics. It should be fun .

Happy Holidays everybody. I hope everyone's having fun this holiday season. It's been awhile since I updated my blog. I finally had the chance to do this today .

Here's one of the planes I been working on. She has not flown yet due to weather conditions here in VA. It's been cold and windy although sunny most of the time. I have seen videos of it and seem to be an easy park flyer. I just want to fly it in an almost perfect weather condition, i.e. not cold and not windy. Am I asking too much?

Presenting my Great Planes Nieuport XI WWI Parkflyer. She has the Rimfire 400 (28-30-950) brushless motor, a Castle Creations 36A ESC, Futaba S3114 micro servos, and will use a Venom 1300 11.1v lipo. It was fun assembling her. Yep...She's an ARF. Tower Hobbies has all the details here, http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXXSR8&P=7

Here's the video of my GWS Tiger Moth during its maiden flight last year.

I replaced the stock brush motor with a brushless motor of the same physical size but had to install a 10T pinion to mate with the stock spur gear. 10 amp ESC with 350maH lipo battery was used during this flight. Employed two(2) S3114 Futaba servos and a T4XA futaba 72MHz radio.

Where did that light post came from?
