My daughter Evelyn and I took our 50mm jets and other RC aircraft to the Mojave Airport 75th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, 18 Sep 10. There was lots of interest and great feedback.

SpaceShipOne Astronaut Mike Melvill came by our display and was amazed by these aircraft. What a fun day!

Here's a few pics from the day.

Just wanted to share some photos of this new Blitz RC Works Piper J-3 Cub taken at the West Coast Big Jolt. Banana Hobby will be offering two Cubs this year. This is the larger Cub. Thanks to Pete from BH, I was given an opportunity to fly this first sample several times this weekend during the West Coast Big Jolt. The power is more than enough for a Cub, the stability/handling is great and it has amazing scale looks for a RTF J-3 Cub. The Banana hobby site shows availability in early Oct.

Good news! I spoke with Mike Greenshields from Hobby People this weekend at Big Jolt and the release date for the Phase 3 U-2 is sometime in November. Now...that news was great, what was even better was that he brought it to Big Jolt and let me fly it. Get ready to spank your credit cards because you guys will love it. It looks real in the air and handles a 10 mph wind with no problem.

The power is perfect and the handling is nice. It's made of EPO, needless to say, be careful leaving the U-2 in the sun. That black paint on EPO does warp it and popcorn the foam.

Here's just a few pictures. I'll post more on my blog later today!

Yesterday, I received and built my 64mm Alpha Jet from Banana Hobby. I had the pleasure of supporting German Alpha Jets overseas, so this was a must have addition to our fleet. This offering from Blitz RC Works really looks great and at $119.90, you can't go wrong! It runs on a 14.8 20C 2200 mAh Battery which should give it impressive speed.

During the 2 hour build, I added pilots, painted exhaust with Testors Metalizer Burnt Metal, painted/color matched the control horns, intakes, fan hatch holddowns and servos.

Maiden planned for this weekend!
