Just received the the DJI battery Station. This is an early production model but should represent final product and UI. First thing that you will notice is the size. I even thought the posted specs were wrong but they are not. It’s a really compact unit and feels lighter than I was expecting.

Once opened you will notice it holds 12 ( 6pairs) of tb50, 2 wb37 and a wb charger. I do wish it held another pair or two but I do still see people having a battery case or two. I know this will only replace one battery crate for me and will still use the 2nd.

Once powered on you select your mode, either charge or discharge. Under charge you have fast, quiet and normal. Under discharge you have the option of 50% or 25%. When discharging from 100% down to 25, it takes approximately 1hr 23mins and discharging down to storage from full is about 53mins. While charging in normal mode from 25% will take approximately 1hr 9min and 60mins from 50% to 100%. In fast mode I was able to get 2pairs at 25% to 90% in less the 25mins.

While charging or discharging you see the current percentage, voltage, charge current and temperature. You can then drill down to on each battery and see cycles, health status, serial number, firmware version and individual cell voltage. The menu systems is really straight forward and easy to navigate. During charging or discharging the system is on the load side but this is to be expected on a system this small and powerful. It is nice that they offered a...Continue Reading

1. How many batteries can be charged simultaneously in Normal mode and Quick mode?
In Normal mode, the DJI Battery Station can charge up to eight TB50 batteries simultaneously. If there is a significant difference of voltage between two vertically aligned batteries (e.g., in slots A1 and B1; please refer to the TB50 Battery Station User Guide for slot IDs), the Battery Station will charge the lower one first, and then charge both together when they are equally charged.
In Quick mode, the Station can simultaneously charge up to two groups (e.g., in slots A1 and A2, as well as D1 and D2). It will charge the four TB50 batteries to 90% first, then 100% for any batteries that are still inserted.

2. In addition to TB50 batteries, what else can be charged with the Battery Station?
Apart from eight TB50 battery ports, the DJI Battery Station is also equipped with two 20-26V/3A DC OUT Remote Controller Ports and two 5V/2A USB Ports, which can charge Cendence, Inspire, and Phantom series remote controllers, CrystalSky, Cendence Battery Charging Hub, and other mobile devices.

3. What is Silent mode?
In Silent mode, the Battery Station will restrict the charging current, lower the speed of the cooling fan, and turn off the beeper to reduce operating noise. This mode is recommended in quiet environments with abundant time for charging. Silent mode can be enabled in the menu under Normal mode.

4. Can Silent mode be enabled both in Normal and Quick mode?
No. Silent mode...Continue Reading

ULTRA-BRIGHT
A maximum 2000 cd/m² of brightness means the CrystalSky monitor is more than four times as bright as typical mobile devices. On-screen details are clear and sharp, and colors are vibrant, giving the quality needed to fine tune image composition. A dedicated Sunlight Readability Enhancement mode is especially designed for processing the image in real-time to ensure more comfortable viewing under bright light.

* 7.85 Ultra Bright 2000 cd/m²

Resolution: QXGA 2048x1536 (7.85”)

SMOOTHER VIDEO DISPLAY
The CrystalSky monitor uses optimized video decoding to decode video in real-time. Due to limitations in software access on smartphones and tablets, video decoding in other smart devices is less than ideal. When used to view photos or videos transmitted by the camera, problems can occur including video jitter, long latency and more. The CrystalSky monitor’s optimized decoder provides smooth, real-time video with minimal latency.

CUSTOMIZED SYSTEM AND DJI GO/DJI GO 4
A newly designed system removes unnecessary Android apps and services and is resistant to viruses and junk software. This ensures that the CrystalSky monitor is able to offer optimum performance at all times. Its embedded DJI GO/DJI GO 4 app provides full access to all DJI GO/DJI GO 4 features including aircraft parameter adjustment, camera control, footage management, and playback. Using offline maps, maps can be kept available even if going out of Wi-Fi reach.

I just got the new GPC travel mode case from MCW ( http://www.multicopterwarehouse.com/...%20inspire%202 ) Just like most of GPC cases, It's top notch !! They did really well with utilizing space. For example each RC location also holds charging hubs. Under the camera is where another set of batteries is placed .. It has space for two tablets, 2 iPad airs are shown.

I really wish it held more batteries though.. 4 sets just don't seem enough and I do see people probably wanting more . But then they would probably just get a secondary case just for packs!

Overall really happy with it and should serve me well, just like their other cases have!...Continue Reading

DJI is preparing some model files for precise Lens distortion correction for ProRes, until then I would like to provide a workflow for two common tools.

Adobe Premiere
In Premiere, the suggested way to do predefined lens correction is through Effect Preset file. The file we supplied for Inspire 1 is embedded in Premiere 2017

The preset file hooks Premiere’s built in effect Lens Distortion, assign its values for Inspire 2 movie clips to start with. User should add that effect manually

DaVinci Resolve 12.5+
A new lens correction feature was added. It’s in Edit->Inspector. See screenshot below. It has only one parameter named distortion, works much like Curvature in PR’s lens distortion effect. Bad thing currently is there’s no good way input or see what the preset value in DaVinci Resolve would be. Positive is DaVinci can calculate this value automatically with analysis. Works great if image contains some straight lines.

The Inspire 1 was a revelation. The first filmmaking drone in the world to integrate an HD video transmission system, 360° rotating gimbal and a 4K camera, as well as the simplicity of app control. The launches of the Zenmuse X5 and X5R cameras further cemented the Inspire as a critical tool for filmmakers around the globe.

The Inspire 2 takes everything that was good about the Inspire 1 and improves it. An all-new image processing system records at up to 5.2K in CinemaDNG RAW, Apple ProRes and more. It goes from 0 to 50mph (80kph) in just 5 seconds and hits a maximum speed of 58mph (94kph) and has a max descent speed of 9m/s for unheard of speed and agility in an aircraft this size. A dual battery system prolongs the flight time to a maximum of 27 minutes (with an X4S),while self-heating technology allows it to fly even in low temperatures. FlightAutonomy has been revised and developed specifically for the Inspire 2,providing two directions of obstacle avoidance and sensor redundancy. Increased intelligence adds multiple intelligent flight modes, including Spotlight Pro, giving even single pilots the ability to create complex, dramatic shots. An upgraded video transmission system is now capable of dual signal frequency and dual channel, streaming video from an onboard FPV camera and the main camera simultaneously, for better pilot and camera operator collaboration....Continue Reading
