Landing practice in a friends L-39 EDF jet using DJI FPV w/ head tracker The visuals are absolutely stunning. Best viewed on large screen:

Perfecting DJI FPV Jet Landings (5 min 53 sec)

My friend Alex invited me to fly his FW L-39 setup with DJI HD FPV system as chase plane as he flies a FW F-14. It was an eye opening experience, since I am not used to the speed flying FPV in jets. And the DJI FPV visuals are gorgeous. My fingers could not stop shaking the whole flight, so exhilarating! I will need to setup one for my own.

Feast your eyes in 1080P on large screen. The visuals are stunning. Near miss at 2:00....

Even when starting from an advantageous position at the Tomcat's six o'clock. Trying to keep the reticle steady on target for a couple of seconds is not easy. The outcome is all but certain. Or is it?

Need a little help guys landing a Spitfire. How does one keep from dragging a wingtip after the tail settles during landing? I have yet to come to a stop without dipping a wing after landing. Any tips?

My video practicing landings, skip to the end to see the wing dragging. I handle the touch and go’s ok. But after the tail settles, I can only hold on for the ride. Very frustrating...

Turning & burning with a Freewing F-14 Tomcat via head-tracking FPV in a FMS PC-21. I could barely keep pace pegging full power from the start while the Tomcat was only at half power. Still, it was a lot of fun and seeing the Tomcat in the air is like recreating TOP GUN.

FPV Crash Landing - RC Plane (1 min 21 sec)

I have always loved flying formation with buddies at the field. But with limitations of depth perception from ground station, one can never gauge the exact relative position of the different planes resulting in planes being too far apart or mid-air collision. With head-tracking FPV, one can judge relative position as well as full scale guys. It's much easier than LOS to tighten up formation flying. Just takes a little practice and a smooth lead pilot to make it possible. I want to eventually fly warbird formation like the Horseman display team. For now just starting out with barrel rolls and other simple maneuvers. Not bad for only about a handful of flights training together. Enjoy!

Inspired by airshow demo of corkscrewing jet around main formation with smoke. I wanted to try it out with my FPV FMS PC-21. Video shows 4th & 5th flight I flew with my friend Doug for tight formation and barrel rolls. Enjoy!

Two wheelie greasers so smooth, I have trouble telling when the wheels touch from the cockpit. The landings were flown LOS to show son how it looks under goggles (he was wearing them during the flight). He later soloed and landed under FPV in the same plane. Hooked for life!

I miss my FMS PC -21 that crashed last year, just as I was starting to fly fixed-wing FPV. So I set another one up with head-tracking FPV and it really flies and lands well. It’s much easier to ground handle compared with my Spitfire. Here’s a short aerobatic video with landing. Enjoy!

I have always love the look of BF-109F. Though many favor the desert scheme. I still love this winter scheme for its high contrast against the background where I fly and resistance to “gatoring” from exposure to the sun.
