Since Obama is in town they shut down the flying field I normally go to, so I decided to check out a few of the other parks where people fly their electrics at.
Hit up the Halawa District Park first and flew a few times...didn't really like all the obstacles everywhere and the LONG grass. The wheel pants on my SHP kept catching the grass and nosing over.
Decided to head out to my after-work flying field on Renton Rd for a few hours. My buddy Todd didn't have such a good day flying out there. He dumb thumbed his scratch built 3D plane while trying to hover...I think. He also flew his 42" AJ Slick and burned up his esc after 30 seconds of flight. I managed to get 10 flights in with my SHP and I ripped the wheel pants off taxiing!

My buddy Mike took me to the Kaneohe Marine Base field to watch some of the big boys with their jets and war birds While I was there TJ crashed is Sukohi while trying a split "S"...he said it was dumb thumbs...looks repairable though.

I also made it out to the Kailua field to fly.

My buddy Herve let me fly his 43% Edge 540 This is the biggest r/c airplane I have ever seen....I couldn't believe he let me fly it. I only flew it around in circles...I was too scared to crash it

I'm still a newbie to flying having started in July of this be flying something this big was definitely a thrilling treat!

This is my first 3D plane and I love it. Not sure if I'm ready for it yet, but I fly with a bunch of 3D guys and I think I got the bug. This plane is a lot more responsive than my other planes and that's on low rates

This was my second plane. I bought with the intentions of learning to land and basic flying at the park near my house. I have crashed this plane so many times; 2 brownouts (I think), a few rough landings, once I forgot to screw the wing on which did some major damage.

I decided to upgrade her since I burnt out the esc and motor. I had an extra esc from my first Phase 3 EF-16 that I used with an E-Flite Power 10 & 10x7 APC prop. She flys great now...lots of power. Now I love flying this plane and I get about 10-12 minute flying times

This is my second Phase 3 EF-16. The first one I lost on the 4th flight due to a brownout. I just had to have another one because it was so cool

I decided to cover this EF-16 with the Thunderbird scheme. I bought the stickers from someone on this forum...they turned out you can see.

Well, I drove about 50 miles to go flying and forgot extra TX batteries and of TX batteries died and my EF-16 flew into the trees. I tried looking for hours, but was unsuccessful. Luckily, a buddy of mine went out there 4 days later and found it for me. The stickers were shot, so I decided to give her a makeover. I silkspanned, wbpu, and painted her....I think it came out okay for my first ever silk job. I didn't get a chance to add the decals yet, but I do have them made...just too lazy to put them on...I've been too busy flying!

This is my first r/c plane. I wanted something I could train on and eventually turn into a sport flyer, which I did.

I managed to do a few cartwheels down the field on one of my landings while I was still learning and folded the fuse in half, but I was able to fix her up and flew her again the same day! Made some permanent repairs since then and added a few upgrades; OS55AX, Mac Header, Mousse Can, Flap Servos, & 11x7mas prop....Continue Reading
