Previous post was 5 years ago!

I've got many hobbies and my RC time the past few years got taken up with building multirotors and trying to get a Drone Company off the ground in South Africa which is a hell of a mission.

I'm clearing out my garage and sorting out my stuff. Even unpacking some boxes from 5 years ago.

I just bought a kit Electrolyte 40mm EDF and will slowly get back into the exciting world of micro EDFs!

Local business interests were getting annoyed by the commotion of the evening meet of hundreds of young enthusiasts of all motoring varieties. The local RCMP decided to block all of the entrances and do a paperwork shakedown.

I've started making this cage as I feel the Lite ply cages comes with the model is too fragile. So I've discarded it and making a replica using 1/16 ply. Trust me, if you've to repair the lite ply cage at any stage then it's a REAL PITA and wish you had done it before. I'm future proofing my self.

Here are a few picture as I started building the cage. Pictures speaks volume. I'll add text only where needed.

Howdy people

a few months back I saw this TFL Racing (Ford) Bronco show up on sales-sites, and at first glance I fought: 'damn.. that's a lot of $$'.. After reconsidering though, it about the same as I payed for RC4WD cars in the past..
Is this TFL car comparable though??

Link to this car: TFL Racing (Ford) Bronco 1/10th size scaler

Obviously I'll be recording several video's on this car.. First up is a look at the parts.. Then I'll do a build-video, after that driving video's and Maybe an upgrades video as well

I would say it's the best VTX in this price, you can get it for only $21.99 in Amazon, I install it on one of my drones, and it works well.

This 5.8GHz 40CH FPV transmitter has double push buttons for easy changing CH and FR. It has 40 channels, Cover A, b, E, F, r bands. Many pros, such as: small size and light weight, long transmitting distance, more than 3000m at open area.

The Video Band Width is 0-8.0 MHz, and Audio carrier Frequency is 6.5 MHz

Got tired of breaking antenna's and went with a tbs linear. Then got tired of bad reception. So i took the spare emax pagoda antenna I had and the spare UFL whip and 3d printed a mount for it. Best reception now comes with the best durability.
When I fly this course I get a lot of break up at the far end of the track. The pagoda works great and my picture is clear as shown in the video. Hope this can help someone out. Just need to find a bombproof camera.

Here's a couple of nice alternatives to using the cameras you typically get with the AIO VTX/Camera setups - which work fine in a micro-quad, but the distortion doesn't translate well into planes.
Seeing this video by CurryKitten on youtube, it is fantastic quality!

After a few more days, a few hundred electrical & mechanical connections, the container was fastened. It's not as trivial as it looks. It hauled 3.6 lbs without flipping over. The wheels spun quite a bit on any uphill & it high centered. Because all the wheels are now fixed, it can now be supported by 2 front wheels & 1 rear wheel, leaving 1 rear wheel to spin.

The next step was installing a carbon fiber handle. After much debate, the decision was made to not make the handle removable. This limited objects to much smaller dimensions than the maximum, but clearly just as big as the previous container. The holes were cut just big enough to press fit the handle in. If they were expanded & cotter pins installed, the handle could be removable.

With the amount of material now removed from the original lunchbox, it was hardly worth its full price. The 1st drive was 6.8 miles. 3 miles had headlights & payload. 1 mile was at 10mph. It used 2777mAh.

One of my favorite bloggers on this site has been silent since October. I knew he wasn't in the best of health, but that never stopped him from posting close to once a day.

Here's his blog page:

Review of Eachine Goggles Two - 5 Inches 5.8G Diversity 40CH Raceband FullHD 1080p HDMI FPV Goggles Video Glasses

Who would want high quality FullHD 1920x1080P screen like this and HDMI input in theirs goggles and all that with great price?

We all would!!!

And Eachine gave that to us! It is Goggles TWO FPV Goggles at great price of US$127.99 (that's price with 20% off with coupon code FSD618 - hurry while 20% code and stock lasts)

Performance/price ratio of these goggles is amazing and I highly recommend them. Immersion of 78 deg. FoW is beautiful.
FullHD screen with HDMI input, 40CH auto scan diversity receiver, AV in (for ground station lovers), 2200mAh LiPo and all that in super ergonomically designed and super looking box-like goggles.

HDMI input is most welcomed for DJI Phantom like drones which have HDMI out FPV feed and my idea is playing drone sims like Liftoff, FPVfreerider and so on... Fell is so immersive that's unbelievable, much better than playing over monitor...

I was talking with a fellow RC'r and he struggling with how to fit these long sailplane fuses in the car. I have been making these carriers for years to take advantage of the bucket seats in the front. You can run the noses up to the dashboard to get them in smaller cars. I don't glue the PVC together so it's easy to disassemble if you need to bring something big home from the store. I used outdoor carpeting turned inside out to help keep everything from sliding around.
