I was watching The Man in the High Castle season 3 and that German SST design really got to me with the little forward and rear canards, the top mounted forward fin, and the paint scheme, so last night I designed and put this together and then this morning I painted and hand cut the vinyl trim and applied and it turned out pretty nice. I took a wing design I use on some of my kits, moved it forward to allow for the angle cut rear tube, and then trimmed the forward section down to be a bit more concorde like and reduce forward area to allow my CG to be the right place without having to add nose weight.


It's got a 23 inch wingspan, is 34 in Long, and11 oz rtf.

Here is another prototype for a custom kit, based on the old Estes Space Transporter America, which was a shuttle style rocket and had very small wings, so wings were upscaled, adjusted for CG, and upscaled to BT-80 size. The video shows the second flight first, the first flight is second and I over-adjusted on boost on this flight, and then adjusted the boost trim for the second flight which is a lot smoother. 38" long, 23" wingspan, 11 oz rtf using a 24mm E-6 long burn rocket motor.

Here is the prototype for a custom kit I made for a customer, 34" long, 26" wingspan, 2" diameter, 10.5 oz rtf, Based on the Jonny Quest Dragonfly III, I lengthened the wing root and moved the wing/bottom scoop forward to have a reasonable CG, flew like a champ. Plenty of authority to flare and plop down on the grass and no issue with damage to the scoop. Sharpie fine line marker for panel lines, the canards are .03 styrene glued into slots in the nose cone I made with a dremel wheel, and the cockpit is shaped depron foam glued to the cone. Windows/glare shield is hand cut self adhesive vinyl. Elevon control and 24mm E-6 long burn rocket motor for boost.
