After two scratch built planes among one I designed myself (C-152) and a rather unusual Flyingboat (S-39) I was looking for a funflyer easy to build with compact dimensions. The choice fell on the RBC "Viejo" kit which seems to be pretty easy to build and is a lot of fun to fly.

The wingspan is 890mm and the take off weight should be around 650g.

The quality of the kit is very nice and the documentation with a 3D pdf included is very good.

Here's the link to the build log.

The build was real fun and pretty quick! I chose a design which has hopefully a good vosibility, with distinct upper and lower sides.

The maiden flight was a real success! No big issues there. A bit of up trim and it flies like on rails and incredibly fast!

The AUW is 600g and with the chosen setup (Roxxy C3530-08 1600kv motor, 3S 2200mAh LiPo, 40amp ESC, APC E 8x6 propeller) take off is a piece of cake and the topspeed unbelievable (GPS sensor sais 191kmh!!!).

After a few flights I decided to try a folding prop, to avoid broken props each time a landing is not perfectly smooth. With a 40mm spinner and Aeronaut Cam Carbon 8x6 folding propeller it flies great and the landings are much more relaxed.

It is easy to fly and reacts nicely on elevator and aileron.

Have fun

After having built the S-39 and still not having found the courage to fly it I started another project. This time it is a Cessna 152. The choice fell on this particular plane because some time ago I had the pleasure to fly this plane by myself. It was an awesome experience and therefore I've chosen this as my next project.

The first step was to build the plane on in a 3D CAD program. The design is based on the C - 150s from Pat Trittle, scigs30 and DonAutogiro. Their build logs gave me a lot of inspiration. Thanks guys

Under this link you find the build log of this plane.
