The North Central Regional IMAC Championship this past weekend was the last contest of the year and had one of the tightest races I have ever seen. I felt like the little engine that could, competing against gas giants with my little electric plane. See pic below. More pics to come. Read more about the competition here.

The Z84 is a pretty nice Wing with a decent power system.
This version is the PNF that has a 2208 2600kv Motor, 30A ESC, and 5050 Prop.
I've found a 6040 Prop works much better than the stock 5050 Prop as it produces more thrust and is more efficient.
Let's get it in the Air!

The KMP 6040 Composite Prop proved to provide a lot of thrust with good efficiency.
When I landed I still had 3.85v per cell ;-)
My new favorite Prop for this Wing.

The LIPO I used for this Flight was a ZOP 3S 1500mah 40C LIPO.

***Note: I replaced the T-plug on mine with an XT60 Plug on the ESC

Reports are appearing of a recent Windows 10 update disabling and replacing the driver that enables use of an FrSky radio as a USB flight simulator controller.

Here's the first report I saw, along with a fix:
Quote:

Hello folks, I frequently use my Taranis (X9D, using OTX 2.1.9) as the controller for PicaSim flight simulator on a Windows 10 PC, and yesterday it suddenly wouldn't work for that.

In case it helps anyone else, here is a quick summary of how I got it working again.

Symptom: After a Windows update, the game controller functions (joysticks, switches) no longer do anything in Windows.

Cause: Windows update installed a new driver "libusb0.sys" in "C:\windows\system32\drivers" which was now being used for the Taranis USB inputs.

Solution: Revert back to the previous Windows driver.
  • Turn Taranis ON, and attach to PC via USB as normal for using flight simulator.
  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right click on item "FrSKY Taranis…" Select Properites > Hardware > USB Input Device > Properties > Change Settings > Driver > Update Driver > "Browse my computer…" > "Let me pick…"
  • Windows had switched mine to "BETTER_USB_HS" (which in this case was NOT better!)
  • I switched it back to "USB Input Device" and all is good again.
It is once again using the driver "hidusb.sys" in the same directory as above, and the game controller functions are working as before.

Cheers,
- John
I found that in my case the procedure to get to those settings was different than what was described by John, so it's not necessarily the same for everybody.

Here are some other reports that I've spotted so far:

(Left Losi right UFRC)
The huge spindles at the front suspension fill the rims almost completely and guarantee high load capacity. The joint balls in the a-arms have a diameter of 15 mm (FG uses only 10 mm for the same vehicle size).

Front and rear spindles/uprights prepared for installation of in-wheel brakes.

Drive shafts with wheel-side CVD joint as in Losi 5ive vehicles. The drive pin on the diff side is also replaceable and has a diameter of 6 mm!

Remember this glider ? ( Maybe not - been a while ) Cheetah 100cm Hand Throw Glider

Motor Prop = XK A800
Rx = JoysWay Invader
Tx = JoysWay Invader
Servo = 5g I think ? or maybe 4.3g ? ( I forget )

Nothing is glued yet . I did gouge out the hole for the Rx , and after these pictures were taken I gouged out a hole for the 2 servos . ( Rud / ele )
The motor was done via Philips Head screw driver ..
I just poked a hole in the nose and gouged out a hole about the size of the motor ..
Yes , I did a fair bit of gauging today ..

Hopefully finished on the morrow .
A very budget'y build using left overs .

So this addition to my blog is a little late. My son surprised me this Father's Day with this really cool Kyosho Dodge SRT Hellcat RTR. I've never owned anything Kyosho before (other than a Honda CBR motorcycle back in the 90s), so this is my first. I have to say, I am impressed. The body is beautiful, with lots of cool details, like mirrors, shark-fin antenna, rear stabiliser, and rear window defrosters. The chassis itself is really nice, with great suspension and well balanced. It comes with a 550 motor and really scoots along nicely. It's not really that fast, but with a higher volt lipo, I'd say it has potential. And the best part was being able to just charge it up and go! The boy and I had a great time running it along side my Associated TC3. Many more 'races' on my cue-de-sac are soon to come.

The leading industrial drone manufacturer for commercial drone solutions of China- MMC. recently launched Griflion H, a groundbreaking modular hydrogen fuel cell drone platform that uses proven, stable hydrogen fuel cells. Greatly improve the endurance of the drone. The high protection standards and long battery life make it suitable for use in extremely harsh environments (such as rain and snow, alpine regions, high-temperature fires, etc.), and will make a difference in many fields such as rescue and field exploration.
1, modular design to meet a wider range of needs
Designed for a range of applications in surveying, inspection and monitoring, Griflion H is the first of its kind to offer an adaptable, modular hydrogen fuel drone platform with a maximum load of 5.1kg. A variety of payloads can be replaced at any time according to the needs of the operation. The load is quickly integrated with the task compartment and quickly taken off. A multi-purpose machine is available to meet a wide range of operational needs.
2, 15 hours long battery life, improve work efficiency
The voyage is a prerequisite for industrial-grade drones to solve all operational problems, and Copte has maintained the history of drones. It is reported that the Griflion H drone released this time is equipped with a 9L size gas cylinder, the maximum gas storage capacity is 27L. When using this capacity hydrogen fuel gas cylinder, the drone is fully loaded for 15 hours, and the drone is refreshed again....Continue Reading

The cowl uses 3 screws to secure it to the nacelle. Once those are removed you still have to remove the spinner bolt, adapter nut, prop, and backplate. If you can’t remove the prop because of a jammed nut or stripped collet threads then cutting the cowl away is one way. Here is a cowl that uses red (or white) electrical tape to hide the cut line. The top tape can stay in place and act as a hinge. The remaining cut lines can be hidden or left visible as the 3 screws will secure the cowl to the nacelle.

I made up a tool to keep the the motor from turning while tightening the prop adapter nut. If you can’t keep the motor from spinning by gripping the spinner backplate you must grip the motor. Removing the cowl with this clamshell mod will allow you to do this and screw it back in place. If you have a prop strike and suspect a loose motor mount this mod allows you to inspect the motor area quicker because the prop will not have to be removed.

The top hinge can be made from any kind of tape. I have been using a Tyvek paper hinges on flaps and other flight controls and CA works excellent on plastic if it’s sanded first. However clear or electrical tape can be used.
