I picked this one up for $40.00 only needing a boom. Canopy has a cracked and taped nose. Needs a good deep cleaning from a previous servo drenching in cleaner. Other than that this thing is in great shape. The li-po's look new.

I broke it down and cleaned it up. Servos are very clean. Hardly any wear on the tracks. Just waiting on a few new booms to arrive. The electronics work great! Looking around for a decent fiberglass canopy now. Maybe something unique??

Here is my newest addition the Hobbyking Quicksilver! Honestly I was a little unsure once I started the build. One of the tail to wing plastic pieces were glued on sideways resulting in having to unglue and reglue while trying to not break it and I did No big deal. I re-attached them correctly and wrapped it with kevlar thread, ca'd then painted it black. Now as far as the twin pushrod complaints I just removed one all together. As you can see in the pictures I used basswood carved to fit both sides of the elevator then sanded a basswood filler for the center. Had to notch out the vertical a bit also. I will be using an esky 8g servo for elevator with the rest remaining stock. My packs are turnigy 2s 800mah 20c lipos. The known little chunk of cg weight is no longer needed using this combo. Plane's cg is perfect at a 1/3rd back.

Will get a good video made as soon as this tropical storm moves out!

JUNK!!

Im behind the iphone laughing because I just flew it the same way. We were trying to finish it off and move the electronics to a better wing. The slinger was'nt made for that much power. But it was fun while it lasted

Her first time out with a tx in hand! We went to the park and I brought along and old esky tx that I had (no antenna, no batteries) to see how she was going to do. Got here setup next to me with the plane on the ground and ready for take-off. I asked if she was ready and the answer was "Yep!" Up it went and she followed every move that plane made until it was on the ground. This child is addicted to my planes and heli's! Sometimes I believe more than I am! I guess the next step is to get my hands on a buddy box for my dx6i and get her going.

I went from grandfather to daddy! The adoption was finalized August 17th!!!

I started all over again. My children go from 20,18 and now 2 1/2

Remember, just because it doesnt come from a manufacture in bright and shiny aluminum, doesnt mean its not the real deal!
I've been flying for many years now and i've used the same techniques time and time again! Well I don't know about you guys but i've had enough! I finally got tired of my heli flying off into something while trying to test the gyro or even trying to setup the cg on my machine using my fingertips and taking an estimated guess everytime! Not anymore, I need some input on my design from you guys here. I have finally finished them, they have been tested rigorously. I will be posting a video showing the setup of my gyro stand and cg stand. If my manual is followed correctly you will get endless tests out of my stands. I know i've wanted to purchase one of those expensive gyro stands for a long time but I just could'nt afford to put out $100.00-$200.00 on a nice alluminum stand that my heli "might" be able to fit on! Well that was my reason for these stands, I set out to build a worthy and affordable cg & gyro stand. They both come with two coats of polyurethane clear coat. The base of the Cg stand is true and square to the posts so you could easily add a 2 inch level to the base of the Cg stand and square up your mainshaft with the posts. I use nylon bushings and mylar washers to keep the gyro stand from having interfearing friction. I could have machined aluminum with bearings but I believe that would have contradicted the purpose here! Hence...Continue Reading
