My friends and I took a precious time at the base of Mt. IBUKI. The field was covered snow. White was the base color which bore great scinery of rice field and small mountains, of course Mt. IBUKI.
We made exellent use of small high vision cameras. Three electric powered sailplane were flown in the blue sky at the same time. This chance brought very awsome video.

Enjoy!

It takes long time to make my thrid ICON-A5 s288
Rainforcing the tail, carbon rod unit lat down in the center of fuselage.
For waterproofing the elevator servo, I put glue on joint lines.
BTW one of the power unit from HK was damaged along shipping. I have to cry myself to sleep as it's tough to finish recieveing guarantee that I standed it.

I've been making ICON-A5 s288 small version as a third plane.
I started from a kit version for the first time.
At last, I knew its construction.
I backed up what would be replaced or rebuild.
And as I enjoyed two, I've noticed what and how it'll be modified.
Now I started to make the brand new one.
Hope this will be the answer....Continue Reading

I flew Pilatus Turbo Porter last weekend. It's third and forth flight.
I get used to control this plane. Flaps work well to get low keeping low speed.
Motor power is enough to gain altitude at 30 degree elevation angle.

One of my best friend called "Kunidon" made a tiny seaplane.
The plane is a scale model of PS-1 that is an antisubmarine patrol plane.
This has four 50XC motors and 2cell 700 mAh. Its weight is only 386 gram, and made of scratch balsa.
After several improvement, this flies awesome.

Since last the latter half in May, I’ve been working at every weekend, as a member of “Birdman Team-Holland”. This team is getting in “Japan International Birdman Rally 2012”

The team launched at the middle of last May. I got my hands up to get together this challenge. The man-powered aircraft is a real plane, not a model. The construction is almost near a model though, it’s terrible difficult to work up the 32 meters wing span plane. Other teams take a year from design to finish.
But we finished the first day in July, only two months basically.
The birdman rally will be held on 28,29th in July 2012.

Hi everyone!
A weekend on this May, I joined Slope Soaling Festival in Izu peninsula.
I made FPV on Duo Disucus, its wing span is 3 meter.
Five Hi-vision movie cameras were mounted.
I suppose this is the first trial in the world.
Please enjoy!

The other weekend my freaks and I went to called M- Lake.

We love sailboats and seaplanes. Most of all members got their yachts and seaplanes.

On that day, cherry blossoms were in full broom. The sky was clear. It was calm or sometimes breeze. We enjoyed sailboats in wind and seaplanes in calm and ate and drank in all day long.

Of course I fried my big ICON from the water....Continue Reading

Hi everyone.
I made two rack housings of instrument panel in my ICON.
At first, I made positive die from balsa block.
The housing was made of 0.5 mm thick PVC sheet.
Using heat gun, the sheet transformed into rack housings.
Then colored and cut, rack housings were finished.
Attached on dashboard it, and also fit a motor cowl, my ICON looked as if the model had finished.
I’m going to fly it from the water in the next chance.

At last, I made a test flight from the land. “The flight test” means my ICON has not finished yet, mainly around the cockpit. Its elevator trim was cruel at first. I had to push elevator stick up half…
In some way, I finished to check every gimmicks work well.
The next flight test is from the water.

As my friends pushed my back to make cocpit, I start to compile some pictures, mainly from ICON A-5 home page.
I get a start on checking what’s different from the kit, and compare what parts should be modified.
The last tasks are waiting closely in front of my actionplan.

At last, I got a clear canopy.
Big ICON A5 from DZ hobby, selling by Hobby King now, has a big canopy. The original built-in one is too dark to show cockpit.
Maybe everyone wants to replace a clear one. At last, I finished it today. Making a clear canopy was terribly hard job.
For me, try this one was beyond my boundary, but I wanted clear one cordially.
Since last autumn I imagined how to make it, but I couldn’t imagine how to make. I made the first step to make was in December 2011. Every time, I found sure approach, I took a step. It took about a half year to finish the clear canopy.

Regards
