Saturday’s weather predictions showed a SW wind. Probably the worst direction it could come from. Luckily for us, it turned out to be more Westerly and stronger than expected (10mph). As typical the past 3 weekends, we had threatening clouds and rain around. No rain while we flew . The hill did receive lots of rain this week. Enough, so that driving could be a challenge. I have a large SUV and it got stuck in the mud just getting to the Westside of the hill.

The weekends are looking up. A little bit of the fall winds showed up giving us a nice stiff breeze out of the East. Of course we had a larger crowd. Seemed everyone knew the wind was “up” and showed up. All was not rosy. More people means more planes in the air. I'd like to say we had an exciting Saturday. It was just "OK". We had decent wind from an encroaching storm, about 10mph. The breeze was out of the East, feeding storms just West of us. Rain squalls were missing the hill and passing by on either side.. There were only seven of us they showed up.
We left early, had lunch at the Peachtree and then swung by Maniacs Hobby before calling it a day.

We got a little taste of the fall this weekend. Don’t get me wrong, it was still hot. We just had a nice steady breeze out of the East. It gave us a chance to drag out our heavier stuff and get some real sloping in. Also, this weekend FSS #4 was going on in Kenny World (Morriston-Ocala). Only two of our club members were able to attend. And good thing, since we sponsored this contest. Thank you Paul and Jamie! Here’s a link to the thread:

Until next week
