Got my new pikes, these were ordered with no paint on the fuse or the bottom of wings & tails. Haven't decided on rx battery, but rest of gear will be X series rx frsky with vario, kst 145's in the fuse and 135's in the wing, Target rtf weight is 76-79oz.

I think it'll build out to 60oz's. Using my typical latest up 135's in the wing and 145's in the fuse. Stay tuned for more.

So I needed a new field charger for those days where flaying all day is gonna happen or a buddy forgets to charge his model or transmitter the night before.

I had a 12v 9AH gel cell battery, 1 Turnigy charger with leads and a cigar box that just so happened that the battery fit in to. Made a trip to the electronics supply store and picked up a dual 12v cigarette power socket, toggle switch and 2' 16g wire.

So this is one fun model! Took me a long while to find it but I finally did at Alofthobbies. The airfoil thermals well and once loaded up it will haul the mail.

I will be using mostly to fly at the flat field off a high start and slermal it at the inland slopes.

I've already attached the nose using slow cure epoxie and chopped glass mix. Installed the tow hook and made the pull pull carbon control horn for the rudder. I've had this kit for a while and have been working on it this the last year or two.

The airframe as pictured weighs 35oz no radio gear installed.

It's time for a new set of f3f models for the 2014 season. Here's my solution to getting the control horns installed with consistency on both models and the servo tray I made for the v-tail servos. For the wing connector location, I was searching for clues on how to do it when I found I build thread over the pond with a great solution. I'll post link later, can't seem to find it right now. I'm using Deans 4 pin connector for the wings.

After thermaling the nemesis fun, but really challenging. I've seen a couple of these fly and they look fun. This is gonna be my all arounder. Replacing and upgrading an old Bisk II. That plane was fun! Using a bungee it thermaled well, on the slope it was fast enough to race.

I plan on reading Targets build thread before starting.

All gear+ 23oz (this includes manufactures packaging)
I realistically will see AUW of 78 or less. I'll post pics tomorrow. Build might start on Monday.

This was my first moldie. i needed to replace as the first one met the Pt.Fermin cliff early last summer.
some upgrades from the original. using all hyperion digital mg servos at all surfaces, Ball links at all surfaces too, for battery i wanted to fit the largest mah i could 4 3/4A's 1500's i think will do the trick nicely, though tight. here's some pics.....Continue Reading
