After a couple years of hesitation, this spring (2015) I added Forsberg Field in North Mankato to my list of favorite places. As a former member of the AMA sanctioned MVRC (Shakopee, MN) and being a long-time member (1994) of the AMA, the City of North Mankato provided "public" flying field feels a bit odd. Though there is no "official" flying club, a few visits makes it quite apparent that there is an unofficial "club" here and the camaraderie between these members and their field is quite strong. Though I was quite welcomed by these fellow RC aviators, I can't help feel a bit guilty flying from such a great facility without having made a shared labor or financial investment.

I'm looking forward to bringing my multitude of model aircraft models and types to North Mankato, MN this summer and sharing stories with this great bunch of model aviators.

Join me as I launch my tricopter over Forsberg Field in North Mankato, just off Lookout Drive near Carlson Drive, checking out the local scenery and chasing Barry as he slow-flies with his Hobbyzone, Super Cub S.
