I have installed a motor onto the XFX 280 ( Mystery Brand ) I don't remember the specs on it ( A real mystery )
Also got a 20A ESC for it ... So I guess the next step is setting up and thread locking .
I have Rx , servos and gyros on hand , so just need to set up and thread lock .
Could take for ever ?

Turnigy 9XR pro - OpenTx - IrangeX IRX4 multi protocol module ...

Flip is Channel 5 > Yes ( I have included pictures )

So go to menu 10/12 Special functions
1) Assign a switch
2) Channel ( 5 in this case )
3) Value ( 100% )
4) Make the function active
5) Be careful you have the correct switch position ( 50% chance of getting it wrong ) If there is a ! before TRN ( !TRN ) then you have it wrong .. ( you just want TRN )


Flipping ! ( good fun )

To flip , I simply toggle the TRN switch , this arms the flip
Then with a decent amount of throw from the stick I can flip in any direction I chose ..
Gentle stick movement wont flip the E010 , you need to give it decent throw .
You are only arming the E010 for a single flip , ( Dont know what would happen if you hold the switch and flip ? )

So there you go , have a flipping good time !

For the price , I think these are simply great value , and best of all , they work and the feature I liked most was the scan feature ( scans for the channel your camera is broadcasting on ) . Just makes life so much easier !

In the box are the VR goggles , 2 antenna , head band , instructions , USB cable , a Video out cable , some wet and dry wipes as well some foam for your nose . The first thing I did was to charge the goggles internal battery , probably took all of about 15 to 20 minutes . A quick read of the instructions :

1) Hold down the scan button until the goggles turn on - Takes about 5 seconds .
2) Press the scan button once to begin to scan for your cameras operating frequency , the googles will lock on once found .
3) Press the menu button if you need to change brightness etc
4) + and - , kind of self explanatory .
5) Run time , I estimate that the goggles might be good for about 30 minutes , maybe more ! I havent tried to deplete the internal battery but I did get about 30 minutes and the battery was down to 3.5 volts . Now you can run external power VIA the USB charge port ( Power Bank ) to extend run time .

I have added a comparison between the Eachine VR006 and my old ? screen that mounts on the Tx and I think you can see just how much better the goggles are ( They are much better ) . For function , I have to give these goggles 10 out of 10 , they really work...Continue Reading

Came yesterday , the XFX 250 helicopter kits ( I ordered 2 )
Actually , they are " Aeolian Storm 250 " , I did not know Aeolian did helicopter kits ?
Looks like everything is there to assemble a Storm 250 .
ATM I am concentrating on the XFX280 ( put a motor in it ) .
But I just might have to assemble one of the 250 to see how well they fit .
They are cheap though , for the price of a burger and fries , U can have a RC helicopter kit ( That's crazy )

If you tried hard enough , for $100 USD you could quite possibly put a 250 heli in the air , actually I remember putting a 450 in the air for less than $90 USD some years ago when 450 parts / components were cheap ( really cheap ) . Thats the radio and the heli and all the parts needed except the flight battery .. ( Yep , servo's - ESC - Gyro - Motor - rotor blades )

Anyhow , thats what these cheap kits remind me off , when 450 was cheap !

So a $15 motor , $15 Gyro , a $5 ESC , some $2 servos , and a (?) gee I dont remember what I paid for the Rx .. DSM2 ( I have 2 ) either $6 or $10
And these are parts I have on hand ( except the ESC - I just ordered that )

? Thats not so expensive , a WL Toys or Walkera would cost more ..
I will do another post when I assemble on of these 250's - At The Moment I might concentrate on the 280 .. Put that in the air , as it looks like a some what unique design ..

The XFX 280 came today .

The kit is pre-assembled , nothing was bent or damaged .
List price is $24.99 USD ( I paid about the same in $Oz with some banggood points )

Kit is all metal with a few plastic parts .. All the gears run straight and true . ( I don't know that the kit is thread locked , so ? you may wish to thread lock all the screws and while your at it , re-fit all the moving parts to your specifications . ( Though it does seem well set up )

The design of the head ( main shaft - servo mounts ) , really looks like the design is begging for crash damage .. The rest of the heli actually looks good .
So you might not want to crash it .. ( Perhaps not for Noobs )

Now as for the size of this 280 , it is more or less an exact match for my HK250 ( unfinished hanger queen )
So perhaps use the same motor as you would use on a 250 .
I just checked and it looks like it is built for 9g Servo's . ( That might be very good )
I might be able to get this one in the air for summer (?)
