Loose interpretation of a 1/2a Pinto
Finished with Microlite, Japanese tissue
AXI 2217/12
JETI 30 amp ESC
E-Flight timer
Turnigy 1000 3 cell Lipo battery
APC 8x6 EP prop
RTF weight of 14 oz.
42' steel lines

Still working on trimming but seems to fly just fine
The throttle is turned down to about 60%
At that throttle setting after a 4 minute flight my batteries are at about 65% charged. At that rate I should be able to easily get 6 minute flight times.

Finally put the finishing touches on my Pat Trittle Pilatus Porter. It is a very light plane and floats like a butterfly. I installed navigation lights on it and was having a blast flying at dusk last night. There is still a lot of trimming to do to get it to behave properly for coordinated turns and learning how to best use the flaps. Good fun!

Flew this little gem for the first time today. All in all I am very pleased. It has a .049 with a 5x3 prop and a balloon tank. The Cox pulled it around with authority and was pleasantly fast without being out of hand. The first few seconds of the flight was a bit of a thrill as I over controlled back and forth a few times but once I got it settled down it behaved quite nicely. On the second flight I put in %60 expo on the elevons and that made it behave much better. I will reduce the throws a little as well for next time. Turn and burn was the ticket for the first few flights but I threw in a few rolls ( scary fast!) and some loops. I did learn that when the engine quits it glides like the space shuttle so keep the nose down and head for home pronto; stalls are abrupt and pronounced.

It was a good day,

Just put the finishing touches on this Stik last night.
I found an old foam core wing at an estate sale and have had it in my garage for the last 10 years. I finally decided that it would make a great Ugly Stik wing so I scratch built the rest of the plane to match. Hopefully it will fly ok.
