I've used the EagleTree OSD Pro, and the SimpleOSD XL in my FPV career. The ET one worked well, I thought, but the wiring was an issue. There were just so many wires to get it working. I also tried the SimpleOSD and it tried to do what it said on the tin - be simple. But I had too many issues what were blamed on my planes ESC and radio Tx that I gave up.

I am now trying the DragonOSD+, and so far, am very happy. Here is my story of how I get along with it.

7th of May. DragonOSD+ ordered! Exciting! I've been looking at their support forums, and am quite happy with the level of support that John and Daniel are providing. However - they haven't dealt with me yet! I am by no means a wizard with electronics... and the DragonOSD+ seems to be very configurable.. and requires a lot of manual work to get it working. The EagleTree OSD Pro was very simple. But maybe that came at the cost of the amount of wiring.

15th May. Got my OSD! Man, it's small.. VERY small. And looks so simple! Just a little blue board.. with some pins.. No instructions.. nothing. Just a board. Loads of info online, so this should be fun. Now I need to plan my video harness.. and work out how to get it all into my EasyStar! Which is sealled - so cutting holes will be fun!

16th May. Built the video harness! with a lot of help from the forums, and Daniel Wee, I think it's OK! So, I decided to wire it up, plug in the video Tx, camera, mic and the OSD.. and see what happens!

Here's a diagram of the video harness.

Here's the video of the first power up!

The maiden flight.

Highly successful. Video needs fixing though, and I need to get the Altitude to display correctly.
