This hobby is one thing more than anything else - it's about bringing people together. It's taken me a few years to realize how much this one activity brought me closer to a few other guys that would've just been casual neighbors. In fact, there is just one person who shared his excitement and joy for this hobby with me more than anyone - Lou. He dragged me out to the hobby store for my first SuperCub LP - a plane that is still 'almost' flyable to this day. The coolest part of this time was that Lou always included my little boys - only 1 and 5 at the time. We all bonded in the evenings, on the weekends, if only for a few batteries at a time. Our time was pretty awesome as we learned new tricks, lit up the neighborhood with our night flyers and entertained the locals with our flying.

Sadly, we had to say our goodbyes to this generous friend yesterday. I've seen similar posts throughout the years and even some popular members who've left this world. I just wanted to share my personal joy and memories that Lou and his love for this hobby have brought me.

Enjoy the moments that you all have together at the field or even online. This hobby is a great one for bringing us together and tossing aside our differences.

Cheers to our flying buddies and Lou!

After flying my beloved HZ Super Cub LP for 6 months or so, I started wanting some speed and some aileron experience. For Christmas, my awesome wife bought me the P-51 airframe, since I had all the parts to complete this sweet looking Mustang. Long story short, I smoked the P-51 on the local cell phone tower and have rebuilt her as a Reno Racer...like Dago Red, only not as pretty. Either way, the new motor, ESC and batteries have this thing flying on rails.
