Some build pics and video of my new Hobby Lobby Yak 55, only took about 2.5 hours for me to put together! Really rigid, light nice airplane. The control rods/horns were really simple and nice as well.

Hope you enjoy!

I don't know if it actually is, but has the same paint job and it's definitely a 747. Snapped this pic over my house today.

My Typhoon 2 With a Brushless Outrunner (2 min 55 sec)

Edit: New motor, it is Turnigy's equivalent to the Park 480. I am currently using it and it is perfect.

I finally got tired of replacing gearbox after gearbox an my Typhoon 2 so, guess what, time to order a sweet outrunner!! I used a 77g motor from Hobbycity.com (See below). This motor is lighter than the Park 480, just as powerful (if not more), and is only $17 ($52 cheaper that the Park 480). The installation took only about 2 hours. Easy as pie. This is the mount I did, but if you want a removable from the firewall version, click here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...postcount=1067 Here's some steps:

1. Order this motor: https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...er_1020kv.html
2. Go to Home Depot and get some 1 inch spacers, at least 8 washers, 4 #8 allen head 1 3/4 inch bolts, and some nylon lock nuts. Also get some light ply from your LHS.
3. Take off the firewall and try to get it off without losing a lot of foam from the fuselage.
4. Cut 2 squares of ply and epoxy them to the firewall. (you can also just screw the ply into the firewall, but i prefer epoxy)
5. Drill the four holes through the wood an firewall that will match the motor mount.
6. Then, use a dremel and the circular sander to cut away the foam/plastic/dried epoxy and to make spaces for the washer/lock nut. (see pictures for help)
7. Attach motor mount (that should already be mounted to motor) on to the wood. The order of the items shold be: Allen head bolt/motor mount/ spacer/washer/wood/...Continue Reading

If you have ever asked yourself "What does a HobbyCity order look like?" or "How is HobbyCity's shipping quality?" or "Should I order from Hobbycity?", here's your answer. Hobbycity.com gives you great quality parts that do not come damaged. HC has great prices, and there is no doubt that you should order from them. My favorite is the HS-55 comparable HXT900 that is only $3.49!!!! Here's how my last order came and what I got:

http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6790
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6380

All of this for $108.88 shipped!!! This order came in 11 days and the previous one in 6 days.
