I needed to remove some hot glue from in between two pieces of EPO foam. I tried to google the answer and found the following answer: Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol) will soften the hot glue and help you do that. The alcohol softens the glue and then later on evaporates away leaving a clean surface.

However, I wanted to know if the same is true for the type of spirit I had available to me (surgical spirit /methyl salicylate). I was struggling to find the regular Isopropyl Alcohol anywhere near me (in the UK) for some reason. The stores around me were carrying methyl salicylate formulas instead. So I thought about giving that a try. Here's what I did:




I used that bottle of surgical spirit (methyl salicylate) and that cotton bud thing to apply the alcohol to the target areas. I had the cotton there if I needed it but actually ended up using tissues instead of the cotton.



For safety, I was wearing latex gloves.

Brief story, this man was a small boy in WW2, he was on a playing field in 1944 when a B 17 came over, all shot up. He, Tony, was standing in the field and saw the pilot waving at him so he waved back the pilot did several passes and Tony didn't move. The B 17 crashed nearby.
A memorial was built as all the crew died in the crash and Tony has maintained it, daily, since it was built.
He told a stranger that he would like to get a flypast on the 75th anniversary, the stranger was a national tv reporter.

Hey y'all I been flying for 6 months now but yet to fly the real deal, I went through about 30 toy drones of all types, I have my new Eachine Tyro99 built up all ready, running with a Flysky FS i6 tx and receiver, I connect to betaflight 10.4.0 I think and I get a fail to connect to some type of port , any help videos that will explain step by step what to do because I never used beta flight and my tx is saying err1:0% the light on my reciever is red doesnt change and I need all the help I can from the community. , thanks in advance y'all, if ever in North Florida y'all want to come by fly , more than welcomed might even do u a tattoo ��

Iíve recently added the OrangeRX external module to use my Taranis X9D plus for non-FrSky receivers and have been successful in binding with Spektrum receivers but not the FlySky. The quad and the FlySky receiver it came with are functioning fine. Now, I just want to use my Taranis instead of the FlySky (tired of carrying around two transmitters). Iím guessing itís with the settings in the Taranis but canít figure it out. I need some expert help.

I have never really worried much about not having any 'Afterburners' on jets that the full scale version does have it, but I had bought a few of the various Afterburner 'kits' that have been around over the years. eg RC Lander, done as a ring of LEDs to go on the very exhaust of the jet.
These had numerous fitting issues and downsides so I never actually used any.....

When RCgeek started selling some, and with the 'new' idea of using LEDs on the actual EDF motor, it began to seem a more useful idea.
But the cost to get those to Australia is a LOT!! Too much for even one jet, let alone a bunch of them!
So I decided to make up my own version.

4stripes from RCG also 'reminded' me of the idea to make my own, based on that 'on the motor' idea, and it raised my enthusiasm to actually do something!

A single 10W LED makes it easier to do than using many smaller LED's.....

If you only switch the LED On... and Off.... then the driving circuit is extremely simple.
If you want it to Flicker at the On/Off transition region then that gets notably more complex compared to just On/Off, but is still not that hard to implement.

Then there is a third option/possibility, where you have 'unlimited' control of the colours and timings - though what variations and true needs of these possibilities are there? This would be done with the use of a microprocesser unit, such as an Aduino Nano etc. Very small and very cheap.

I decided that my criteria is to at least have 'Flickering'.

I received all my UC4H modules from Jani at JDrones and some modules OlliW built for this project, thanks OlliW! I'll use a UC4H V2 Powerbrick to power the system. The Universal Modules for GPS, Serial Bridge, Mavlink Bridge, LED Notify and Display will finish off the system. I'll use OlliW's UC4H Kiss 32A ESC carriers but I could use Universal Modules for the ESCs also.

I suppose the place to start a new build is the power supply because everything depends on reliable clean power. One of the problem areas and points of confusion in APM/Pixhawk builds over the years has been supplying power. The flight controller is a flying computer with sensors. In order to operate it needs clean reliable power to stay working and to evaluate its sensors accurately. So you don't supply power to your flight controller from a BEC on your ESC. Those voltage converters were made for simple devices on airplanes, not the rigorous requirements of a flight controller. Also, we can't power everything in the whole world off our flight controller power module. So just don't do it. Use a separate voltage regulator for other devices that need significant power. A flight controller pulls a few hundred mils so don't think about powering a 1 amp 5v led strip with the flight controller's power module.

Hello everyone,

As you can tell I am in the process of fitting a dorsal air brake to my scorpion. As with any custom mod I am running into an issue, which is basically my fault because I decided to upgrade from a 6ch radio to a 7ch instead of just getting a 8ch. I currently do not have any open channels on my radio, however I do have an open AUX port on my receiver (this is a Spektrum receiver and radio) which I have been unable to mix. I have a few ideas on how to avoid buying a new radio and spending a bunch of money. One idea I have mocked up is using a separate servo tied into the flap system with a crank/turnbuckle that turns the last little bit of stroke from the servo into a big movement and actuates the air brake. I also had an idea for tying in a landing gear door sequencer into the flap port so that once the flaps are down it will activate the air brake servo. hopefully you all can give some advice on how to make one of these options work. I attached a few pictures of the bird, I repainted it to get rid of the ugly red and white ( no offense if you have one in that scheme I just think its bland). I also have The A3L gyro installed.

Some video of my new Afterburner set up on the Freewing 80mm Mig-21 with FMS 12 blade fan with 2000kv inrunner. I put in an adapter made by my buddy Frank Mokaya for the inrunner. The rest is my own set up and it works out pretty well! I also added reflective tape in the thrust tube to make it a lil more visible. I will try to get some better video at a later date but this is all I have for now. This set up will work on 70-90mm inrunners and 80-90mm Freewing outrunners (they have a specific set up with a cover that works really well) as well as the 90mm FMS 12 blade outrunner set up. Anyone interested in this just let me know through PM and I will get you details.
