When Banggood messaged me to ask if I’d be interested in testing a new micro quad they were releasing, I said “Yes!” before even thinking about it. But just a few minutes after processing an order for their new Eachine EX105 Micro FPV Racing Quadcopter I started to wonder what this little beauty was designed to do.

I currently fly FPV quads ranging in size from the miniscule Tiny Whoop, through a 3” BoltRC Tanto, and up to the standard 5” miniquads. Each of my quads is spec’d and built for a fairly specific purpose. The Tiny Whoop is for indoor proximity, the 3” is for flying in my yard and cul-de-sac, and the 5” quads are for freestyle flying in parks. So where does the EX105, with it’s 105mm wheelbase, carbon frame, open props, and full-featured F3 flight controller fit? Let’s fly it and see but, first, let’s take a closer look at Banggood’s newest microquad.

Overview:

The EX105 is designed around an F3 flight controller capable of running Cleanflight or Betaflight. It utilizes a separate receiver and can be purchased for DSM2, FrSky, FlySky (great idea!), or without a receiver. It is all mounted to a very clean (albeit thin) looking carbon frame that actually has tiny little aluminum standoffs and a top plate! It pushes 8520 brushed motors spinning 55mm “Hubsan” style two-blade props.

I think it’s a very cool looking design. It reminds me, visually, of a micro-sized QAV-X or X-Hover MXP200B. The included 1S 600mah battery fits under the main...Continue Reading

This is not the maiden, but one of the succesfull dolly takeoffs with a nice landing !

The plane is being held onto the dolly by a servo.
Once speed is ok, i switch the servo and plane takes off.

Dear sir;
This new website is not intuitive at all, it is laborious to say the least! This company has in the past been a go to for me with 277+ orders, please go back to the old website and cut your losses, this new site will never work. I bet your feeling a big hurt in your pocketbook by now. I have seen so many complaints from friends and on the www. Quit while your still ahead, you can only go up, your are being boycotted, and it you dont change back you are going to loose thousand and thousand of dollars! But what do I know, just seen this hundreds of times, your I.T and developer should get canned.

Respectively submitted. Dave Swanson

I am fairly new to the drone game and made my first 3 inch drone with a friend last week. I keep running into issues after I try to load firmware to flight controller...here is my config:

- FLIP32-F4-BATTLE EDITION (MPU-6500)

- 20A CAVALRY "4IN1" ESC BLHELI-(ONESHOT)

- TGY-iA6C Receiver

After I load the firmware and I plug in the the battery to start the configuration of the ESCs it disconnects itself from the computer. And starts a endless loop of beeps. I am not sure what I am doing wrong or if I just have it wired incorrectly. My friend is very knowledgable but both of our schedules lack the time to work on this together...and ideas?

Thanks.

Finally, I have my Cessna 182 ready to maiden. I should have retired years ago! If I don't destroy it I plan to improve it both mechanically and in appearance.

The wheel pants are just positioned for the picture. I want to put them on but the goobers included two of the same side for the rear and the front mounts backward to the installation of the landing gear. I will be flying from grass most of the time anyway. For now, the battery hatch is the windshield attached with velcro.

I wish I could name the manufacturer but I lost the info. It's a well-made balsa and composite ARF and quite attractive, I think. The clevises were plastic and too weak for a plane of this size. I mentioned the wheel pants issues and they painted the nose and cowl kind of wonky. The wing braces are kind of cheesy. I also had to adapt it to electric but for $80 plus shipping, I wish I had bought two. (Ebay)

The spinner caused me a lot of grief because I couldn't find an adapter nut with right threads for the G60's collet adapter. Eventually, I went with an E-Collet Adapter from Tru-Turn that would accept a 5/16-24 adapter nut.

G60 motor; I've read some have magnets coming loose and the leads are made of stiff wire but so far I'm happy with it.
70A Redbrick esc; larger than other escs and the battery leads are a little short but it has worked well so far and has a 5A bec.
2 standard servos
2 slimwing digital servos; not sure if all digital servos are but these are disconcertingly noisy.
MAS 14X9 3-blade
6.6 pounds.
Draws 28A with a 6 cell, 3000mah, 20c, zippy. Plenty of power, I can't measure it but it feels like it could hover.

Now to get going on my 80" Cub with snow skis!

The Racerstar BR2205S motor is a successor of BR2205. I will be taking a look at the 2300KV version, and compare the performance with older version of this motor on the same simple DIY thrust stand.

The BR2205S motors were provided by Banggood.

Motor Spec

Size: 2205
RPM/V: 2300KV
Height: 33mm
Width: 27.9mm
Shaft diameter: M5
Motor mount hole size: M3
Weight: 30 grams
Voltage: 2-4S
Material: 7075-T10 7050 aviation aluminum-alloy material

I already tested its older version – the BR2205 2300KV motor - LINK
This new "S" version is very similar in looks and build quality. Old shaft was just replaced with semi hollow shaft and one portion of bell is lifted and grooved for better traction to propeller base. Motor bell and base are made of 7075 aluminum that is very nicely cut. The cooling design is used in this model, which should keep this motor cooler during flight.

I just got a Vaterra V100s.
Do I need to upgrade the steering servo? It's a std digital brushed with nylon gears. 32g, 0.17 sec/60 deg @ 4.8 volts and [email protected]/60 deg @6.0volts. Would appreciate as much input as possible. Thanks
