Designed by Scott Swanson, this plane handles great in the air and just as good in the water. Here is the thread containing plans and build notes. I bypassed the printing and cutting phase and bought a kit from Hoosier Cutout Service.

During the build, I decided to add LEDs for night flying/floating and here is the result. I am quite pleased with this plane.

I've always loved the look of forward swept wings such as the "Bird of Prey", and after flying one of Laine's wings at SEFF, I knew I had to have one. I ordered the foam cores from Laine, but before they arrived, I used an old wing from another plane and built one myself.
The wing is from an MSComposit Blade Dancer. It has a symmetrical airfoil and huge elevons since it's for a 3d plane. The fuselage is from a $2 styrofoam chuck glider bought from a toy store. Wingspan is 26.5". I'm using a Turnigy 2730-3000kv motor with a 4.5x4.1 prop and it shows consistant 70mph readings with the RCSpeedo app on my smart phone. After getting the cg right, this plane flies great and is my current "go-to" plane for both calm and windy days.

I'd like to take time to thank those here on RCG who have offered advice, answered questions, and helped me in many ways over the years. I thoroughly enjoy this hobby and you guys have made it a much more enjoyable experience by taking some of the frustration out of it.
