Did a build for the LHS on the new Blade 550x. Overall a great kit. A real step froward for the Blade line. This would pose no problem for the first time builder. Low parts count and everything fits. I would grade it as good if not better in some aspects to the Align kits. Everything's in the box but a battery and radio.

One issue worth noting. The forums have reported issues with the ESC acting up. This one so far has been as advertised.

The first flight off the Horizon City Flyers new field. 4 years of work finally pays off. Had a work day to get started on the shade. Thank God for members with equipment. Got our concrete poured for the shade. I had no idea jut how much work it actually is. I'm getting way to old for this.

1-29-2012, we finished our shade and will back off for a bit while we replenish the clubs funds. Plans for the future are already in the works.

02-19-2012 we held a well attended Open house at the new field. it was a bit on the breezy side but still a lot of fun.

I had to do this one. T Rex 600. RC Areodyne Seahawk fuse. graphics done by Callie's Graphics . So far the build is proceeding well. No major issues to report the quality is excellent. More to follow.

The N-28 is done so now all my attention will be focused on the Seahawk.

Got a little done last evening. A few minor issues but nothing that cannot be worked out.

Putting the final touches on this one. Very close to testing. Here's a rough video.

Well I'm getting close to finishing this one up. It's been a very easy build and the support from Balsa USA is superb. Callie's Graphics did a great job as usual on my decals. My experience using Koverall and Sig Nitrate dope has been positive and cost effective. I've still have to finish up doping and painting the bottom wing and mount the G-26 for the last time then on to test flights. I had not build from a kit for some time and I'm really glad I did this one. I forgot just how satisfyingly it is to see a pile of wood come together as a aircraft.

I ran into a issue with the inter planes. Got them redone. Changed the flying wires to a thicker wax thread. Now all I need to figure out is a time saving way to assemble and disassemble this thing. Just a few more finishing details and I'm ready.

A few freinds showed up to help finish her up. Maiden to follow soon.

Flew 10-16 at our Scale Fly in. Very satisfying to see her in the air. Took Peoples Choice and Most Realistic Flight

8-18-13 still flying this one took second place military at scale fly inn.

Th A-10 has always been a favorite of mine and I've been looking for one this size for some time. This one went together smooth and looks great in the air. Very straight forward as far as assembly goes. There is a bit of room for improvement as far as the gear goes but other wise very well done.

Working on a couple of more builds. Here's a 600 size heli conversion to a 109 fuse. Pretty straight forward more of a assembly then build. Flew the mechanics and there ready to install in the fuse. Once there in and test flown I'll ad all the little scale details.

Getting closer might have test hops later in the week. I'm looking at a alternative to access batteries but it's not looking good.

Finishing touches complete. Next to do some trim flights at a freinds warehouse. Hoping for this weekend. Might even get some video.

Have some time so I figured since people stop by here to check me out I'd post a bit of info. First I've been building and flying R/C for about 25 or so years. My main interests are Scale Planes and Helicopters. I've built from plans, kits and also assembled a few ARF's along the way. I enjoy posting here and on other forums and find the exchange of ideas and different personalities I meet along the way vary but the goal is normally the same promoting our sport.

I've seen the good and the bad sides of our sport and am glad the good far outweighs the bad. Anytime you have a group of people together there's always going to be a difference of opinions. That's just life. I serve as the Club contact or Secretary of our club the Horizon City Flyers in El Paso, Texas. We fly 365 days a year here since winter isn't really a factor.

I'll post some of my builds and projects as this blog develops along with some of the events and cool stuff our club promotes such as night flying. One of our members put this together.
