A young chap I met at the UK R/C Nats a year or two back is now doing a media course and needed to make a mini documentary as a course assignment.

Here's the result. Hopefully worth a watch for a few minutes.

(how many of you can identify with the "plane on a stick" comments ? ..... can't believe I was the only one )

A re edit of my last film - some colour correction and re editing to make it was watchable as possible rather than just a "holiday" video

A quick film of our annual "Pitts Artists" expedition. This year it was to Swansea.

There's 2 x S1-S, 1 X S1-T and Eagle and a Cub (The Cap 232 went Tec with brake issues).

Taken the weekend after our BMFA R/C nationals here in the England, there's a fairly "chilled" vibe for 3 mins 43 sec.

Hope you like it

There's a password - "RC"

Air 2 Air (3 min 12 sec)

Shame it was not a smoother day - but we managed to stay within the safety brief and got the fullsize in shot every pass.

Trust me, it's much harder than it looks for the R/C pilot, mainly due to timing the pass and getting in the right place at the right time when you can't look at both aircraft at once.

the R/C camera ship was a multiplex Easystar with a gopro on the front, not that i'd want to test it - but probably not enough to cause serious damage to the RV in a collision.

First ever spin of this (new) aeroplane.

Could well be the last as this type is not cleared for intentional spinning here in the UK

Many thanks to my test pilot. Looks tame on a computer, but in reality you need BIG balls (or a small brain )to do this

RV-6 Spin testing (0 min 22 sec)

(PS - before anyone says it, "Zero" for the flicked spin entry, and don't you love how the ipad keeps trying to flip rightside up !)

I've been ready for 2 weeks now - but the weather has other ideas

It's an RV-6, 160 hp with full inverted systems to go with the Pitts. Brand new, never flown, built over the last 18 months from a 16 year old untouched kit I found in a barn.

A bit of a "crossover" film this time. Some of the sequences are shot from a Multiplex R/C "Easystar"

Cloud Dancing on the "Bullet Train" (4 min 14 sec)

As soon as the weather improves there's plans afoot to try some air to air shooting with R/C & the Pitts. Ideally we need either a static quad copter or a 100+ mph fixed wing platform.

Methinks the fist stage will be "flypasts" of a quad copter in static hover at about 50'

Can't wait to get started !

Here's a 3 minute video of a trip around Scotland last weekend.

The Aeroplane is a Zenair CH601.

It's kit built from aluminium and pop rivets, the kit costs about £14k here in the UK - much simpler to build than many models I'd say.

It flies at around 100mph using 14 litres per hour. Range is 6 hours - so you can really go places (as the film shows I hope)
