What a difference a week and the same forecast makes. Last week in the SE bowl, there was no wind, no lift and we were rained out early. This week, the SE bowl had a good 10-12mph coming straight in, no rain and plenty of lift. Of course no one complained! We had plenty of good flying with lots of combat . Now if only next weekend we’d be so lucky.

We had 15-20mph winds straight in on the East side. In a word….Great! Everyone had been looking at the weather report, because we had 20 members up top before noon. Suprisingly, with the amount of RC air traffic (10-12 airplanes in the air), there were only 2 midairs and virtually no damage. Very much a successful day with everyone logging lots of flight times.

Saturday was the typical light wind, hot, muggy day of summer. We had a light wind hitting the SE bowl and some thermals rolling through, so there was some very light slope lift available. Most of the club members had already figured this out, so the end result was only 9 of us showed up (light turnout).
