In 1080p 60fps - Here is the raw uncut footage of the 3S Test Flight of my new FMS Moa 1.5m Glider.

FMS Moa 1.5m Glider 3S Test Flight (7 min 6 sec)

Powered by a Tattu 3S 850mAh 75C lipo, weighing in at 80 grams. The CG was set to 57mm from the leading edge of the main wing. Flight Timer was set to 3:00 minutes (yes 3 minutes). Flown with a Spektrum DX8 G2 Transmitter and using a Lemon RX DSMX 7-Channel Diversity Stabilizer / Receiver.

Personal modifications were as follows:

1) Eflite 30-Amp Pro Switch-Mode BEC Brushless ESC (for safe 3S operation).
2) Custom-Drilled RX Diversity Antenna Exit Port (to allow for 90 degree separation).
3) JB Weld 5-Minute Clear Epoxy Coated Front Skid (for additional landing skid finish protection).

The rates and control linkage setup I used were as follows:

Aileron: 100% with 0% Expo - Control rod to the innermost hole of the control horn.
Elevator: 100% with 0% Expo - Control rod to the middle hole of the control horn.
Rudder: 100% with 0% Expo - Control rod to the middle hole of the control horn.

Lemon RX Stabilizer Gain Settings:

Aileron: 8:30 O'Clock Position
Elevator: 9:00 O'Clock Position
Rudder: 9:00 O'Clock Position

(I also increased the gain to an additional 50% on the Master Gain Knob of my Spektrum DX8 G2).

Additional Tuning Used: Throttle - Down Elevator Mix. First I trimmed the Moa for a "power-off" level glide. Then I assigned a switch on my Spektrum DX8 (G2) to add a 9% "...Continue Reading

Finally finished the new hex build, started with a no-name Pixhawk kit from Amazon and so far I'm pretty impressed. It was a bit of a learning curve setting up the Pixhawk but overall it turned out good. Just need to get some good weather to get out and fly it.

Dancing Wings -

Lets start here - I took it out a few mornings ago after doing some tuning in the front yard .
At my CG test site my first Spear Chuck was magnificent . And after that things just got steadily worse until the wing would just GLUD into the ground ..
For some reason , it refused to break , which was nice .

But I was getting frustrated and I was beginning to have daydreams of doing a rain dance on top the wing . The satisfying feeling of venting frustration stomping something into the ground ..

Rather I decided to stick to my plan , and the plan was to DLG the wing if nothing else worked ..

( The docile pussy cat )

Chalk and cheese folks ! The wing becomes a different animal when launched VIA wingtip . No longer a monster LEAD SLED , the wing now launched predictably and consistently - ( It glides - it glides )

Bixler Wing

As seen in the picture , the wing has been joined .. The Bixler HLG has begun ! The wing is 1440mm after trimming and joining . And it really is Floppsy ..
Yes , it will need carbon . It is super flex'y , and the weight is not good , it's going to be a weighty bird . Might be nice on a slope ? or bungee launched .
I will build it ..

Dont know why ?
Got me a small geared motor ..
Maybe ? V911 HLG becomes motorised .... If I can get to the control board .

This is my E-flite Viper 70mm EDF Jet Unboxing & Review.

E-flite Viper 70mm EDF Jet With AS3X And SAFE Select Unboxing & Review (8 min 10 sec)

E-flite Viper Jet Review Notes:

Pros:
- A nicely priced BNF 6S EDF Jet
- Bolts together and doesn't require glue
- Looks better in person, though I still wish they would have picked a different scheme for this jet
- Easy to see in the air
- Plenty of speed for a Beginner EDF Jet
- Lands slow and gentle with full flaps

Cons:
- The canopy arrived scuffed
- They don't provide any tools like Freewing EDF Jets to help snake through wires or for installing hex bolts.
- Connecting all of the wires through the fuse was not easy, so I am glad I had the CrewZinn stand to help.

Hi, new to group. This is my 1st build, I am going to keep a record of my progress along the way. I am hoping to produce a stable highly controllable camera platform. This is a tonal learning experience, I have enjoyed it early to this point although I have lost considerable her count from pulling them out over various troubles and roadblocks along the way, nonetheless it has been thoroughly enjoyable. Landing gear is the next bit to be designed and implemented.

As part of a build challenge that I participated in on the FT forums, I picked out the FT Tiny Trainer as one of my next builds. So here is the intro video to the FT Tiny Trainer. The FT Tiny Trainer is a versatile plane that can be used as a chuck glider or RC. It also has the ability to grow with the ability of the pilot by offering a polyhedral glider wing and a separate sport wing with ailerons. So you can go from 3 channel to 4 channel just by changing the wing. I'm going to start doing the plane as a 3 channel and see how it does.

Like most things CANbus Ardupilot is a little behind the game. We have come a long way on this project from setting up power, installing the ESC's, adding GPS and Mag, getting information from the Notify display and adding the rangefinder for more accurate altitude measurements. The SLCAN tool and the UAVCAN GUI software has given us a great way to monitor data on the CANbus and configure our can devices and troubleshoot. It still allows us to troubleshoot those devices even buttoned up inside the multirotor. We get an unprecedented view of what is going on inside the quad in real time instead of waiting until the flight is over to review the logs. With UC4H we know what the rpm of the motors are and what the temperature of the ESC's is at. We know how many satellites we have locked and that the EKF2 as initialized as examples.

But some of use grew up using Mission Planner and with all the benefits of UAVCAN GUI it would be nice to integrate Mission Planner and UAVCAN. So OlliW developed a way of linking Mission Planner to the CANBus and allow us to connect with CAN devices on our multirotor just like connecting to the flight controller and downloading the parameters. With the UC4H Mavlink Bridge we can get our CANbus information right in the Parameters with all the other aspects of the flight controller we configure.

http://www.olliw.eu/uploads/uc4h-mav...mp-gui-v01.jpg

The UC4H Mavlink Bridge sits on the CANbus and connects to the Pixhawk via a serial connection. It is created using our multipurpose General Node. So simple and so powerful.

This is my fourth Drak build after my original production Drak, my 80" Extended Wing Drak, and a 68" Prototype. The goal with this build was light weight, simple, and a more efficient 6S power train for long distance proximity flying. Unlike my previous Drak builds this one has almost no paint or lamination (just a 2" strip on the wing leading edges) for weight savings. I purchased the kit from a guy on the Ritewing Nation Facebook Group 12/20/18.

AUW with 10,000mah 6S comes in at just under 4000gr. compared to my original Drak at 4760gr. or my 80" Drak at 4660gr., both with 10,000mah 5S.

Since a panning flight cam is advantageous when fly close proximity I mounted a Runcam Eagle 2 Pro on a 180 degree servo on top of the nose and for HD I have a Insta360 ONE mounted in a recess just behind the flight cam. The video quality and stabilization is outstanding at half the price of the new GoPro and presents a more aerodynamic frontal area.

Equipment:
Motor - Ritewing SS 3530 650kv
ESC - Hobbywing Platinum 100A
Servos - Blu Bird BMS-6212DMG+HS High Speed Digital Metal Gear Dual Ball Bearings
Pan Servo - Hitec HS-5065MG+
Eagle Tree Vector with Air Speed Sensor and Alerter
Dragonlink V3 Large Advance Telemetry Receiver
VTX - ElectrifyRC T1013 Pro 1000mw 1.3
Video Antenna - TrueRC Side Feed Singularity
Flight Camera - Runcam Eagle 2 Pro
HD Camera - Insta360 ONE
50v 1000uf Capacitor on ESC...Continue Reading
