Today I learned that my good friend and flying buddy Bob Masterson had passed away.

I first met Bob about 15 years ago when I joined the North Florida ORCAS model boat club. We enjoyed many years together running scale model boats around various ponds around town. Then we got into RC planes and flew at the local park together. Our activities there drew many more RC pilots and one day we started calling ourselves the "North Florida Dawn Patrol" because we would fly very early in the mornings before the wind came up. The Dawn Patrol remains active to this day, but when we fly in formation it will be a missing man formation.

Just when you start to think that nothing really matters in this world, you lose a friend and learn just what really matters in this world.

I feel like a piece of my heart is missing. I will miss you Bob.
