All -

This is my Gordon Englehart 1936 ARUP rc conversion. The original model was a 24" rubber powered craft, I extensively redesigned the wing ribs. It uses a hextronic 10 gram outrunner, AR6400 BL and two parkzone linear servos.Solite yellow and modelmaster red paint cover it. A 350 MAH LIPO fuels the 4.4 ounce ( 131 gram ) flying weight model.

The first video was made from my cell today during the second flight. The first flight flew out of my hand but after a few seconds went into a tight but slow flying turn. reducing throttle and neutralizing the stick allowed the model to straighten up and come down to a reasonable landing. An elevon end push rod wire had come unglued. At the same time it was noticed one linear servo had " dead " spots and would randomly just not function. A new servo was obtained and that was the cure....Got lucky with this slow, light model which went on to a 20 minute second flight, and many fine flights since.

Hi Everyone-

Scanned from my issue of the June 1947 Flying Models - the Thor engine review. Most Editors didn't bother reviewing these " slag " engines so this is probably one of the few reviews published when these engines were new.....

enjoy,
