Guys,

Well, to me I got a super deal locally from a former co-worker (retired) and who sold me this GEM!

It is a Vintage Carl Goldberg Jr. Falcon! He came with three spinners to choose from, all for a cool $75 US Cash and delivered to my RC Club on Sunday morning!

Can't get better than this! The Kit is brand new and in super shape!

Thank you Peter!

This hasn't been the best summer at our house. Departures at work and my father's health consumed just about all of our time. Nevertheless, earlier this month I made my first trip back into the workshop and began repairing the Kadet. Small task by small task, I was able to get it back into shape and carve out a few hours to test it this past Saturday; my first such outing since May 4, pictured below.

The Kadet flies as beautifully as ever. I made a few small changes, like moving the radio forward , but everything else remains the same. I also put a short flight on the Slow Poke. It was obvious I'd not been flying for a while!

If nothing else, I met my goal.

AGFRC creats a new programming software to read and edit the data of servos.
Very user-friendly, please see the picture
Only need to combine the servo and USB Link to computer, then all the data is up to you !

This is a Demo Flight of my Arrows RC F4U-4 Corsair 1100mm Warbird.

Arrows RC F4U-4 Corsair 1100mm PNP Warbird Flight (5 min 41 sec)

All of the internals are stock. Powered by an Admiral 3S 2600mAh 30C lipo, the weight of this 3-cell battery (211 grams) with an additional 28 grams of ballast affixed to the underside of the removable battery tray was enough to meet the manual's recommended 60mm CG. Flown with a Spektrum DX8 G2 Transmitter and using a Lemon RX "LM033" DSMX 7-Channel Stabilizer / Receiver.

My RC friend Brad had shown up to the airfield to view my Arrows RC F4U-4 Corsair in action. What I didn't realize until halfway through my flight was that he had also decided to record my flight as well. Brad had been looking for an F4U Corsair in the 1100-1200mm wingspan range to replace his aging Parkzone Corsair. I had suggested this model in particular. With excellent stock 3S performance, quality materials, manufacturing, as well as having flaps, retracts, and lights right out of the box, the Arrows RC F4U-4 Corsair is a great value and hard to pass up for $169. I also felt right at home piloting this one - just a very solid warbird with no bad habits, and a real sweetheart to fly.

Brad ended up buying one.

Brad, thanks by the way for getting my flight footage. Even with just an old iPhone 6, you still managed to capture one of the best warbird flights I've ever completed -- and what's surprising is you typically don't even record flight...Continue Reading

At long last, the Beaver kits are shipping! We received them on Tuesday, got the pre-orders shipped out on Wednesday, and headed up to Fond du Lac on Thursday for Warbirds and Classics Over the Midwest. Great event!

Chris Kramer from Iowa got some stick time on each airplane. I would say that sold him on buying a kit, but he actually liked it so much before he got to fly it that he purchased the kit first!

If you've been waiting for them to arrive, now is the time to order. www.moustachemodelworks.com

This is my H-King Flycat 70mm 12-Blade EDF Jet from HobbyKing Second Flight Review.

H-King Flycat 70mm 12-Blade EDF Jet From HobbyKing Second Flight (3 min 54 sec)

Hobbyking EDF Jet Review Notes:

Pros:
- The HobbyKing Flycat feels rock solid while handling it
- It has a Beautifully vibrant color scheme
- Lots of power from the 70mm EDF Fan unit
- Rock solid ball link connectors
- Quick and easy assembly and radio setup
- Optional Retracts via foam cutouts
- It takes the same batteries I use in my E-flite Viper & Avios Spitfire

Cons:
- No RC Plane lights
- Any plane that requires glue gets a con from me, but it really was very easy & intuitive.

Another two-pack session at the RC field, with more power loops (one around a tree!):

FPV progress - flight #4 (4 min 57 sec)

TIL:
  • 0:00 Betaflight OSD is awesome and tells you what's wrong before you can arm
  • 0:12 Center your trims as part of the pre-flight checks, or disable them completely. Quad constantly pitches backwards right from the start (see 0:12) and I thought it's my FC drifting.
  • 0:25 It's never too late to switch on airmode!
  • 0:38 Previously I was cutting throttle rather early in a power loop. This one looks better than before and actually goes backwards at the top. I figured it makes sense to cut throttle when the horizon comes back into view from the top, and that helped a lot.
  • 0:49 my turns are ugly.
  • 1:00 a power loop with crosswind not ending where it started
  • 1:46 Quad, meet nemesis tree - nemesis tree, this is quad. You'll have an awesome time together. This first attempt went well - again with crosswind having a negative impact on the overall result - but a later one ended with an Rx failsafe, and a somersault at the end of pack #5 was too optimistic. Video breakup wasn't unexpected at 160 m distance, so no reason to panic.
  • 3:01 knife edge - yup! I need a place with a suitable gap to make use of this...
And that's about it for this one.

I forgot to switch on the DVR for most of pack #5, but had an Rx loss under the tree and also hit the tree in a somersault attempt. Here's the footage:

FPV progress - flight #5 (1 min 1 sec)
