Last weekend before Thanksgiving we had our usual meeting on Sunday, it was a perfect day for flying.

A few weeks ago I picked up a BeachCraft at my new local hobby shop. Got it all put together with the electronics they recommended, but I am using a Hacker 40 amp ESC with a castle 10 amp BEC to be on the safe side. I am hoping to maiden this aircraft tomorrow, it would've happened today if it wasn't raining.

I plan to add the optional retracts later on and a v-tail after I see how it flies for the first time. It will also get a 7 channel receiver upgrade all of the channels on the 6 are full.

Also I recently joined S.N.H. flying Eagles for the summer as I am away from my normal flying fields, it is a wonderful place to fly and there's a nice place to drive my trucks close by.

So after the last funder n' lightening reached the end of it's servicible life I decided to build a new one. I built this one the same a last time but using the version 2 plans with the old style tail. I changed up the paint scheme from last time also. This one is black with red tips and white stripes on top and blue on the bottom. I decided to name this one also, Fury.

So I decided to build my next plane for my hangar after I toasted another one. After trying to unsucessfully fly my flat-out extra 300; I managed to wreck it again and decided to scrap it and build something new.

So I was looking through the plans here on RC Groups and found the Mo-109. It's a modified Me-109 built like the blu-baby. I had help from on of my friends and we stayed up until about 3:30 in the morning trying to finish this thing. We managed to finish it the next morning. Took it out the field later that morning and it flew really stable and very scale-like. I decided after that I flew it that I would put a bigger ESC on it and add an air scoop on the side of the fuselage to help cool it.

I'm running a headsuprc sport 400 with an 8x4 propeller on a castle thunderbird 36 ESC. Not sure on the battery yet. I'm hoping to prop up to a 9 or 10 inch propeller. Got the usual rudder, elevator, and ailerons.

Got it all painted later in the day, and I hope to have a good day of flying tomorrow. Maybe even have a dog-fight with my friend that help me build it with his texan.

Well with all of the snow on the ground it's hard to imagine hot summer days with half a dozen little trucks ripping it up around a dirt track. Man, I really miss those days right about now. I love going back through old pictures and relive the days. It just makes me more excited for the next season and where I'm going to race and who I'm going to meet there. I met so many great people at some of these races.

When this racing season comes up I'll make sure to post pictures of my trucks and the tracks I've been to. If anyone's interested that it.

Hopefully I'll be getting a new RB products killer 10/11/whatever for my truggy and move my current RB sport 10 to the buggy, or break-in an engine I have in storage. This season should also be better with the slash, I kind of know what I'm doing with this truck now, with the electronics that is. I know what I'm doing with the rest of it.

And I'm hoping to get a sponsorship from at least one company.

So here's to hoping! And I hope whoever reads this goes and plays with their trucks at least a little bit now. Whether it be driving them, working on them, prepping them for the upcoming season, or just get it out and look at it

Well today I flew the Funder and Lightening for the second time. I maidened it yesterday and painted it thereafter. I started building it on Monday and finished it the next day. I was waiting on parts for the rest of the week. I'm running a 1050 kv motor with a 9x3 prop. It has a 22 Amp heads up r/c speed controller. And it's powered with a 1500 mah 3 cell lipo. It flies pretty well so far. It flew today in a 13 mph wind and didn't seem to have any problems. I hope to put light strings on the tail booms for night flying.


UPDATE: 2/4/12
Flew this plane today with a 10*5 SF prop and a 9*3 SF prop on a power-up sport 400 and a 22 amp esc and it did not get hot at all. This setup can easily run a 10 inch and a 9 inch prop. Looks great in the sky too!
