AIH motorcycles found life in the early to mid 90s during the time that New Harley Davidson motorcycles was in such high demand that the average man had to get on a waiting list in order to get one. Some models with over a year wait. That led to people looking elsewhere which therefore blew the custom motorcycle scene into a whole new world as for popularity & sales.
AIH became one the industry’s largest custom motorcycle producers in the U.S. & in many people opinions set the standard of what custom built motorcycles should be like. Everything was built in house on these bikes except for the Seats & S&S engines if I’m not mistaken. All were assembled in their Fort Worth, Texas shop & some were sold on site & others sent out across the U.S. to be sold by AIH dealers. Unfortunately by around 2008-2009 AIH had changed hands several times, filed for bankruptcy & eventually all assets liquidated including the AIH name & trademarks.
Here in upstate SC these AIH bikes are somewhat rare to see. They def are not out on the roads as often as you see others. This particular Tejas bike was found & purchased out of GA as a original 2 owner motorcycle w/ approx 12k actual miles on it. Originally when this bike was sold new back in ‘05 it had a price tag of $27k.
