I saw Richard Stubblefield in the CL Combat column in a recent issue of Model Aviation. He was a hero to me when I was in high school, when I was flying control line. I was never a competitor but I loved to go to the contests at Melrose park and watch him fly combat and people like George Aldrich fly stunt. I didn't really know about Melrose Park until I got my drivers license and could get around on my own. I knew about Ace Hobbies off Tidwell but when I was dependent on Dad, the instructions were (as we were invariably on our way to somewhere else) go in and get what I need quickly. When I could drive, I could hang out. When I was hanging out is when I learned about Melrose Park. This led to really successful control line flying.

My friends and I had been flying control line in backyards and the nearby elementary school parking lot for several years. I went through several Goldberg models, like Li'l Jumping Bean and Little Toot, with limited success. I got the basics down with a Cox PT-19 but I wanted a better experience. Hanging out at Ace Hobbies resulted in meeting some good control line flyers, who introduced me to Melrose Park as a place to fly the real thing. Inspired, I built a Sterling Ringmaster with, in a daring move against conventual wisdom, an OS 35 CL engine. There was some question about the OS instead of the traditional Fox but the running characteristics spoke volumes. I was plenty nervous when I first flew the Ringmaster at Melrose but I was surprised...Continue Reading

I love flying formation and mock dog fight under FPV, But without an effective aiming device, one just can not be sure how effective he/she can stay on bogies tail. So I persuaded a German scale builder to build a 1:7.5 working reflector sight with collimating optics that focus at infinit and corrects for parallax.

The result is absolutely stunning...

Hello anybody/everybody! Ive had this drone for a little over a year and it is my first. The first few flights went well but after a few months of not using it, I now have a problem. I cant get a satellite lock. Remote shows 16, give or take, but error lights blink 2 short/1 long on the quad and motors run but it will not fly. With no manufacturers support, I bought a new gps module online but still have the same problem. Hobby shops in my area are few and far between and wont attempt to help me because they dont sell this quadcopter. Can someone PLEASE help? I also have a Mavic Pro but Id like to fly this one again. Thanks!

This is an Analog Servo I plan on using in my future Mini Parkjet Builds.
It's very inexpensive and has some good field testing from e3Scott in our "Glue & Fly Series" F-22 Mini V3.
So far, they have performed well.
I will be doing the Field Testing of this Servo in our New "Glue & Fly Series" F-22 Mini V2.5
I have provided a link to e3Scott's Youtube Channel Below.

Got a couple of pretty special planes this weekend. Been drooling over this plane for 6 long years. Good things come to those who wait.
We were hoping to get them all finished for an international furball but thought a careful build for a record attempt would be more prudent.
These were so hot off the presses that Tim didn't have time to complete his usual cleanup and detailing. That's actually a good thing so I can give them a thorough inspection and gain a little insight on what it takes to make these puppies.
I carefully sanded the flashing off of the fin on one of them today. It's a beautiful fit to the wing.
Thinking about using the KST HS-320 recommended by top pilots but it's an HV servo. Hmm, where to find 14MM Li-Ion battery packs.
