Very smooth and quiet running transmission with longitudinally mounted motor. Completely encapsulated, no exposed gears. The UFRC Growler GX1 is almost as quiet as a small 1/10th scale car! This is particularly due to the spiral cut bevel gears and helical cut spur gears. The positive connection of the gears on the intermediate shaft is designed as a profiled shaft based on the cycloids of higher level.

The 1103 pictured with it does not run , I have ordered another 1103 ( hope it gets here soon ) , the 0802 got here rather quickly ( Thanks BG ) .
I just got a 1s capable ESC so am looking forward to some testing ..
Just need some AAA carriers so I can mod my tachometer from button cell to 2xAAA .. ( Especially since I already butchered the Tach )

Wonder if this little motor will push the 450x micro wing ?

Quite a shock when the fixture of Gootube recommendations for the last year, the one of a kind PZL-104 modified with a turbine & extra large landing gear was destroyed. He took off in a strong crosswind & got blown over. This is why there are maximum windspeeds for aircraft.

He provided 10 minutes of video of him beating himself up but showed very little of the wreck. His passengers miraculously survived without any injury. It must have been a very forgiving airplane for him to be so lethargic about the weather.

In another time, it probably could have been rebuilt with parts from another PZL-104 & another engine. He probably doesn't have enough money to do the job. He seemed to document at least some of the build process, so that's more than the Smithsonian had for rebuilding the Wright flier.

Just another fun project and I have been planning this configuration for a while. Not much to say for this is really a simple and easy build and you guys can build this with your eyes close.

This is just my version and it's really interesting and fun project and pretty powerful with 4S.

The North Central Regional IMAC Championship this past weekend was the last contest of the year and had one of the tightest races I have ever seen. I felt like the little engine that could, competing against gas giants with my little electric plane. See pic below. More pics to come. Read more about the competition here.

The Z84 is a pretty nice Wing with a decent power system.
This version is the PNF that has a 2208 2600kv Motor, 30A ESC, and 5050 Prop.
I've found a 6040 Prop works much better than the stock 5050 Prop as it produces more thrust and is more efficient.
Let's get it in the Air!

The KMP 6040 Composite Prop proved to provide a lot of thrust with good efficiency.
When I landed I still had 3.85v per cell ;-)
My new favorite Prop for this Wing.

The LIPO I used for this Flight was a ZOP 3S 1500mah 40C LIPO.

***Note: I replaced the T-plug on mine with an XT60 Plug on the ESC

Reports are appearing of a recent Windows 10 update disabling and replacing the driver that enables use of an FrSky radio as a USB flight simulator controller.

Here's the first report I saw, along with a fix:

In case it helps anyone else, here is a quick summary of how I got it working again.

Symptom: After a Windows update, the game controller functions (joysticks, switches) no longer do anything in Windows.

Cause: Windows update installed a new driver "libusb0.sys" in "C:\windows\system32\drivers" which was now being used for the Taranis USB inputs.

Solution: Revert back to the previous Windows driver.
  • Turn Taranis ON, and attach to PC via USB as normal for using flight simulator.
  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right click on item "FrSKY Taranis" Select Properites > Hardware > USB Input Device > Properties > Change Settings > Driver > Update Driver > "Browse my computer" > "Let me pick"
  • Windows had switched mine to "BETTER_USB_HS" (which in this case was NOT better!)
  • I switched it back to "USB Input Device" and all is good again.
It is once again using the driver "hidusb.sys" in the same directory as above, and the game controller functions are working as before.

I found that in my case the procedure to get to those settings was different than what was described by John, so it's not necessarily the same for everybody.

The huge spindles at the front suspension fill the rims almost completely and guarantee high load capacity. The joint balls in the a-arms have a diameter of 15 mm (FG uses only 10 mm for the same vehicle size).

Front and rear spindles/uprights prepared for installation of in-wheel brakes.

Drive shafts with wheel-side CVD joint as in Losi 5ive vehicles. The drive pin on the diff side is also replaceable and has a diameter of 6 mm!
