It is absolutely ridiculous how they have treated me. I hope that no one does business with people that swap prices on people especially since I am willing to pay for the parts again just so that I can have them. I need to finish this build and I need those items but I will find what I need elsewhere. Permanently.

I start by deciding where that darn hole needs to go and give er a good wallerin!

In all seriousness, I do start this obviously in a spot that I need a hole made usually on an aircraft body or even a spot that I cant even see! If I know the hole location and size I choose a smaller diameter rare earth magnet (round type not the square)

Place the magnet on the spot desired. Place another magnet on the opposite side of the surface so that the magnets attract and "hold" one another to the exact spot to be drilled, or wallered if you prefer.

Use a fine tip sharpie or marker to mark your spot and remove the magnets.

Drill your hole according to the size desired.

This works excellent with blind nuts as well. If you cant see them darn nuts how do you make a hole that won't look like a kindergartener made it? This is your method you don't even need the second magnet for blind nuts.

Ok I have started building this F-4U Corsair with some ideas in mind that may or may not make the cut as far as being achievable.

1) Convert a Scale control line kit into a flying R/C model.

2) Try to make this thing look as scale as possible without getting too crazy with details.

3) Sheeting the aircraft instead of using dope.

4) Use a Control line engine for power

5) Paint and decals

6) No Landing gear (belly lander)

7) Create Ailerons and cut a solid elevator surface rather than the built-up surface.

Those are pretty much all of the goals I am looking for to get accomplished. I may add some more reinforcing to the model and also add a separate fuel tank for longer flight times.

Here is what I have so far in the pictures. I did start this build about 4 months ago and have made most of my goals but some I had to dump because of weight issues.( i.e. using a .15 O.S. LA engine for power.)

I decided to finally take out the DCH-2 Beaver this evening. Lake was calm...Winds were about 5 mph slow gusts to calm conditions. lake was like glass....First had a problem with the steering on the floats that was easily fixed and she was back out quickly. So I take off and the plane gets up fairly easily with a small bit of elevator she was up and in the air looking awesome! So I take a long wide scale left turn around the bay of Lake Palestine and as I am about 150 feet in the air she just stopped responding and began to spin uncontrollably. I was hoping I could save it from the dive but it didnt recover.....so in the skiff we went. Me and my son drug out the boat and looked around for paddles and none were around and the sun was fading and fast. We find some shovels and decided that was our only option. We could see the landing lights on the craft and headed towards it. My son lost the paddle (shovel) about 200 yards into the trek....and we had about 500 yards to go. I am really at this point debating my decision to make this trek to begin with. With the sun fading fast I was really getting tired fast and then my son says to me that there is a hole in the boat and we are taking on water. I think to myself that I just lost a plane and possibly might lose the race so I begin to paddle faster.
