I built my NCFM Moth last year just after our big windy days.I thought I would get to shake her out the next fall and winter. Well that didn't happen, I took on a jeep engine re-build project and that took way more time and money then I thought it would.
Today was gusty at my favorite slope site and the moth was charged up and ready for her real shake down. So off I went.Things went well. a little pitchy for me, and I had to put way too much right trim in to fly correctly. I brought it down for a quick look and the ailerons are not equal to each other I might have a twist in the wing or the vert stab is off. most likely it is the vert stab the wing was built in the wing cores.Correcting that will be for another day. It's time to fly it like I rented it....
NOT BAD ON SPEED!!! Penetration was good wind speed was 24mph+ finale weight of the moth is 21.5oz 612grms not too light nor too heavy. oh and I built it with a ballast tube. So she should rock on heavy lift days
C/G seems to be nailed. I'll need to dial down the exp. a bit All in all a good day

On a side note a little falcon type bird showed up and did not like the moth at all! I never go after this awesome birds I just let them come to me and do what they wont.
The wind was a little much for my light weasel so out came my lead weasel and that was a lot of fun.

The next plan up was my mini one (K&B) I did not have enough aileron dialed in.(transferred this models info into my new 9c radio and the throws weren't enough) a small crash happened no real damaged
A servo popped out of the wing; if I bought some glue I would have flown that too. A good day for summer slopen.
