Last year I decided to do a glow to electric conversion of the classic Goldberg Eagle2. It would have been easier to just add a .46 electric motor to the existing firewall and power it with a 4 cell lipo. Instead, I believed that I could make a better and lighter airplane with a smaller power package and airframe modifications. The plane flies beautifuly on just a .15 Suppo with a 11.1 2200 battery. Just finished up building and modifying my short kit My Oh My. The laser kit was from Lazer Works http://lazer-works.com/rcm.html and the plan was downloaded from the OuterZone UK webstite. The plane was a joy to build and is fun to fly.

My latest airplane is the Mountain Model’s SwitchBack Sr. I built it mostly stock except I made the provision to move the battery forward of the stock location if need. Also the first thing I did was to throw the EZ connectors out. I do not trust a small set screw for the control linkage on an airplane that weighs over two pounds and traveling up to 60 mph -- just my opinion. The SwitchBack Sr, a great flyer that I look forward flying on the warm days of summer.

After all, he got me started in RC flying back in the early 80’s. It is built mostly stock except for the modified tail wheel tiller. I sewed the tiller to the control horn using Kevlar thread. It works well. I am not a foamie lover; however, this is the best flying RC plane that I have flown. The Suppo 2814/8 1000kv Brushless Motor with an APC 11 x 5.5 flies this Fun Cub with authority.

Last year Stevens Aviation gave a hint of a possible 480/.10 size SkyBuggy. It would make a great stablemate to their SkyBoy. I am just dreaming up some covering ideas in the meantime. Maybe a Swiss inspired theme?

Only good times here. I built a SR Batteries Cutie and Acropro in the early 2000’s. Both are modified and are flying well today. The Cutie has been modified with a straight wing with ailerons. Flaperons on the Cutie are great for slow flying and graceful approaches to landing. I was never thrilled with the performance of the Acropro with the original first-gen brushless motor and sub C size batteries. Now with a modern outrunner with lipos it now weighs about 11 oz. less than in the original configuration. Both models use the Supertigre .10 and what a great motor it is.

This is my first RC aircraft that I have built in about ten years. The unique design builds like a piece of heirloom furniture with interlocking trusses and dovetail joints. Flies beautify on a Supertigre .10 and weighs 39oz.
