He has been a fun project from start to finish.

I've started to add some layers to the face and body. I tend to start with the leather objects first like the helmet, gloves and boots. I'm still working on a color for his flight suit. I often experiment with a bunch of color schemes until I find one I like. Here are the latest pics ...

Hello again! I have started a new pilot from the Best Pilot selection. Japanese ace fighter pilot Saburo Sakai. He is incredibly detailed and will be interesting to paint. I have to get used to the smaller scale after 1/4 scale Lothar!

I have been doing some research online for uniform colors and materials to get an idea on how to approach him. His story is an interesting one as well....

Here are some pics to give you an idea how I start out.

Here he is finished and ready to go. If you are interested in buying him he will be listed in the classifieds under aircraft-general- miscellaneous. It wll be posted under Titan Racing ( my husbands user name as he does all of the selling and I do all of the painting).

Looking forward to my next project. I have the Best Pilot's 1/5 scale Saburo Sakai waiting to be painted. Should be starting on him shortly!

Been away for a while but am back at it with an exciting pilot from Best Pilots!
I am currently working on a 1/4 scale Lothar von Richthofen pilot and he is so fun to paint! He will look great in any WWI German plane!
Here is a look at what I have done so far...

Hello again! Gunther is coming along nicely. I have found that painting him first before gluing him together is way easier to get all of the details painted. I have tried to keep his uniform colors authentic as I go along. I like to use Testor's paints but if anyone has any other suggestions I am always looking for new options! Here are some more pictures.
