We are now allowed to fly over here in the UK if we observe social distancing, so the first of my lockdown builds to take to the air is the BLINK delta.
This is kitted by www.angelwingdesigns.co.uk and went together really well.

It has all the characteristics of most deltas and goes well, here are a few snaps taken today along with a small amount of video footage.

In the last couple of videos with the SJCAM SJ4000+ (Mine is the Turnigy rebrand, same same and I run the latest SJ FW) that there was a big fuzzy area on the videos.

I haven’t been very active making videos lately but felt that it was time to do something about it.
First I ordered a replacement lens. Apparently it’s the same as a GoPro 2. Now waiting for it.

The lens is already useless, so why not try to fix it? My magnifier showed lots of small scratches on the lens and a few bigger ones. I could not feel them so they were not very deep. First I went at it with Autosol polishing compound and it seemed to help a little but it took ages. Then I used the compound with a Dremel and a polishing pad. Lo and behold... it worked! Few minutes only. No scratches and a clear picture.

Not sure if this is what you are “supposed” to do as the lens will certainly be distorted to some extent but here it seems to work.

The canopy on the FunGlider was looking a bit scratched so I spent five minutes putting on a layer of paint.

I used Tamiya X-18 Semi Gloss Black paint left over from my CC01 Pajero build.

It also worked fine to detail the FunCub with the same black paint and X-11 Chrome Silver and I used orange on the canopy of my EasyStar FPV build some years ago.

No preparation except making sure the surface was reasonably clean. So far it has stuck well to the Elapor.

Its more airplane than you might think! Probably, one of the best handling and most impressive airplanes I have flown in a while! The FMS 1800mm RANGER does not disappoint with its ability to fly slow and docile like a trainer, then power up and maneuver like a super aerobatic plane! Just add floats and you can do all this on the water as well! Enjoy this unedited, NO GYRO maiden float flight of the FMS 1800mm RANGER Enjoy!

Unfortunately lost onboard camera with the Maiden Flight video.

After fix the head and wing,
I'll change the motor from 300 to 400 class with SUNNYSKY X2212-9 1400KV and 30A ESC,
Do some test for rolling and looping with more power.

I am still playing with the design of a all moving elevator for the UMX Whipit ( or similar built micro DLG ) using a 3mm square tail boom .

This print was R2.1 ( revision 2 in design ) . I just printed out R2.2 which hopefully addresses some printer induced errors .
Yes , the printer induces errors .
It's one thing to design something , then you have to print it and asses where the short falls are and correct them . ( Revisions )
R2.1 was close .
But corrections were needed for the way the printer lays down PLA .
Also R2 brings down the elevator height closer to default for the Whip . , as well spreading load better and being more rigid . Well , not that a whip is going to put that much load on the elevator . I think the fuse and wing take most of the load .
Fingers crossed for R2.2

Update:
R2.2 came out better and good enough to be a keeper !

Check out my maiden flight review with the Skynetic Havok Racer!

Skynetic Havok Racer 1000mm PNP - Maiden Flight Review (7 min 13 sec)

Here are the Review Notes for this Fast RC Plane:

Pros:
- Looks great
- Robust paint
- Large battery bay
- Carbon reinforcement all over the plane
- Built like a tank, even without the CF
- Nice place to grip it for underhand tosses

Cons:
- I found the battery tray install to be overly complicated, but that could have just been me.

I bent two feathering shaft on my K130 in as much days and decided it's time for this modification. I hacked the head by removing the portion for the feathering shaft / blade grips. Had to make my own dog bones as the stocks became to short.

EDITED 5-17-20: I don't like this tarot tail assembly. Not enough clearance in the grips for the k130 rotors. Had to sand off lots of the back end of the rotors root and I don't like that. Ordered the gaui x3 tail assembly that I'm using on one of my k110. I wanted to test it today, but will put it on hold until the gaui tail assembly arrives. Can't wait. Meanwhile, I've stripped my k130 down to single parts and will refurbish it.

So a guy in the RCG members (Carinteriorguy) posted about this motor after it seems the 2820 was out of stock, he said physically it was the same size but the V3 has even more power. This is a beautiful motor i think. if you like blue and silver I like real data so i installed the motor on my Electrostik that was motor less after stole the motor off it for my Mamba 10 i charged up my 3300 mah 4s 40C Zippy compact lipo and took it outside with the watt meter and tested a few props

First i tried a 13x4 Xoar prop I had left over from trying it on my Timber x.
I got 64.59 amps
974.0 watts

next up was a13x6.5 APC
77.74 amps
1131.8 watts

Next was a 12x8 APC
69.45 amps
1013.9 watts

last one a 12x6 APC
53.11 amps
790.6 watts

This motor seems to be a great fit for many airframes around 48 inch. There is one guy who is flying it in a skywing 48" plane, I am going to put it in the new Extreme flight Extra 300 V2.
I am really impressed by the data i see and guys its only a $40 motor.. you can't beat that, I have been a scorpion fan for many years, great motors but they have went up over the years as they got more popular these days i am all about what i can get for a great price that works. I will keep this up to date on the real flight data and flight count and how it is doing. one guy posted his older version had 1000 flights and still going strong. I love sunnysky motors i have a few of them already..

My Eflite AT6 Texan has a scale canopy with lots of detail inside. The front has a foam tung that locks in place and the rear has a large magnet. Past experience has shown that magnets fail in various ways so I installed a latch made from 1/8” thick plastic. It is screwed to a wooden dowel that is glued to the foam fuselage.

This has worked fine for the last 20-30 flights but recently the canopy departed while inflight. Onlookers tracked the free fall and it was recovered undamaged. The fuselage plastic latch had cracked and failed.

I made another similar latch but made out of aluminum. I cut it out with scissors and bent it 90 degrees then cut the corners and de burred the edges with a sanding block. The pine wood dowel is 3/8” O.D. and about 1/2” long. It is drilled for a number 8 screw for the aluminum latch. A 3/8” brass tube with “teeth” is used as a “cookie cutter” drill. The dowel is glued in to the foam with fast setting CA glue or better yet slow curing Gorrilla glue. The screw should be tightened just enough so that the aluminum is held in place but able to turn 90 degrees to unlatch the canopy.

This design can be used to secure hatches and doors as well.

Leaving off from Revision 1 > https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...-TinkerCad-ing

There had to be some minor design changes .

Rather than two pins to make the hinge , I extended the main pin and than made a washer to go on the end .
I also increased the internal channel for the carbon tube for less hand fitting .

Viola , Revision 1.3 works ..
Washer snaps in place = Yeah !
Carbon 3mm square tube needs minimum hand fitting = Yeah !

Weight = 0.97 grams / 0.034oz /

Now back to trying to design a Pod .. / nose / canopy / fuse ... ( 1st was a huge fail )
