I thought this Tiny Wing would make for an excellent Micro FPV Wing ;-)
It has several flight modes; 6-axis, 3-axis, and manual.
It's made from EPP Foam which should make it extremely durable ;-)

Well, the wind on the ground was 3-5mph and a bit stronger 20-30 feet up but it's not going to get any better!
Time to perform a Full Manual Flight of this Tiny Wing ;-)

Eachine probably has the largest range of various FPV video transmitters. Ranging from nano sized Eachine Nano VTX to long range Eachine TX806. One of the most popular VTX is Eachine TX805 (Read the review of Eachine TX805 VTX here ). It is stack mountable VTX with high power output. Recently Eachine released the newer version of TX805S with even more power output - up to 1600mW!

Eachine TX805S specifications:
Input voltage: 7V to 24V
5V camera supply: 220mA(MAX)[email protected](Type)
5V camera supply: 470mA(MAX)[email protected](Type)
5V camera supply: 550mA(MAX)[email protected](Type)
5V camera supply: 830mA(MAX)[email protected](Type)
Extra features: Smart audio
Power supply: 5V output for Camera
Output power: 25mW/500mW/1000mW/1600mW switchable
Antenna connector: MMCX
Cable connector: Solder pads
Dimensions: 36mm*22mm*5mm,30.5 stackable hole
Weight: 11.3g (excluding antenna)

Features:
* Support 0.01mw Parameter-adjusting Mode.
* 25mW, 500mW, 1000mW and 1600mW power switchable.
* One button frequency and power setup.
* OSD configuration using smart audio.
* Onboard mic.

Inside the box there is only the TX805S itself, MMCX to SMA pigtail, MMCX linear antenna and the instructions leaflet.

There is a large heatsink on the top PCB side. We can expect it heating up greatly as it needs additional heatsink.

We made a weekend trip from Finland to Wings over Europe event in the north France to visit a bit bigger venue than our local events. Also wanted to see Jase Dussia flying live. No personal flying though, as we flew to Brussels and just took car rental to get to the Maubeuge airfield and couldn't carry any planes with us.

We arrived Friday evening just to catch some of the last demos and spent Saturday on the site. On Saturday the weather was rainy, but I think that helped Aerobertics sales as people kept drooling at the display planes and fortunately the weather allowed key demos to be flown.

I took plenty of pictures on site, please go see the full gallery!

The event had to be the biggest concentration of Extreme Flight planes in Europe at the time!

I was at Bethel over the weekend with my flying buddies at the Golden Age Air Museum Air Show and RC Meet and saw a plane that I'd been quietly lusting after for a couple of years after seeing it for sale at the CPAA Lebanon Swap Meet. Well there it was over by Zeke's Park Scale Models booth. Met the owner, Dave, very nice guy and we talked about the story behind the model (I'll tell that one in the rebuild thread. Great story!!) and negotiated for a little while. We eventually came to a number that made us both happy and I was the proud new owner of a Duncan Hutson DeHavilland Tiger Moth in 1/4 scale all done up in fabric and painted in a beautiful and striking red and cream . Very well detailed and not at all heavy. Tacon Bigfoot 110, Castle Phoenix Edge 100, Hitec HS-5665 MH servos. It's a nice 8s set up. I swapped out the 20x8-14 prop for a more efficient APC 18x10 electric prop and put in two 4s 5000mah lipos in series. Made a bit over 1700 watts. AUW was right around 17 lbs. Took my time assembling it at the field and did my usual preflight checks (I will be adding a few things to the checklist going forward!) and taxied the Tiggie out to the far end of the field. Taxis very nicely and tracks well. I released back pressure on the elevator too soon and the first take off attempt ended after a few feet in a slow nose over. I walked out to her and set her back down and gave her a once over. Looked ok. I decided to stand behind her and take of from where I was since I was...Continue Reading

I completed the anchor winch. I had to bother a little with the clutch, because the depth on the river is up to 6-8 meters, and while you drop anchor with a gearbox, you can swim to China.

ps Captain Rickson accepted the job

So decided to go for a Dexter themed blood spatter type paint job on the foamboard FT Bloody Baron. I put little dabs of paint on the prop and fired her up to see if that would fling the paint onto the plane. I also had a backup plan where I would put paint on a brush and flick that at the plane. The end result came out pretty cool. Check it out!

When I first got my Spektrum Dx6i years ago, I found that learning to use the "new" computer radio was a daunting task. So many options and settings and figuring everything out took forever. Even once I figured out what settings I needed, I quickly discovered that it was incredibly time consuming to set up each new airplane model I had one at a time. When I upgraded to the new Spektrum Dx6 (black transmitter), I told myself that I was going to standardize everything and make a tempalte file. That way, whenever I got a new plane, all I had to do was copy the template, reverse a few servo directions and be ready to roll. It's been a few years now and I feel like this was a fantastic idea and I want to help other people out by sharing my methods.

I have made a video of this process for people to watch. But I recommend also reading through these directions here if you have trouble.
Spektrum Tutorial: How to Setup a Model Template (21 min 40 sec)

First off, why do this?
As mentioned above, it's a huge time saver. Not having to set up dual rates and your switch positions for EVERY model in your hanger is very convenient. However, there's also the benefit of having each and every plane share the same switch positions. My plane's landing gear switch is ALWAYS in the same place, as are my flaps and my High/Med/Low rate switch. Having a standardized switch layout means that in an emergency, you know what switches you need to hit without needing to think about it....Continue Reading

Guys,

Well, to me I got a super deal locally from a former co-worker (retired) and who sold me this GEM!

It is a Vintage Carl Goldberg Jr. Falcon! He came with three spinners to choose from, all for a cool $75 US Cash and delivered to my RC Club on Sunday morning!

Can't get better than this! The Kit is brand new and in super shape!

Thank you Peter!

This hasn't been the best summer at our house. Departures at work and my father's health consumed just about all of our time. Nevertheless, earlier this month I made my first trip back into the workshop and began repairing the Kadet. Small task by small task, I was able to get it back into shape and carve out a few hours to test it this past Saturday; my first such outing since May 4, pictured below.

The Kadet flies as beautifully as ever. I made a few small changes, like moving the radio forward , but everything else remains the same. I also put a short flight on the Slow Poke. It was obvious I'd not been flying for a while!

If nothing else, I met my goal.
