Going to try this design based around a cheap 2408-21 motor swinging a 8x4 prop using foam I purchased from Dollar tree for .99 cents a sheet. I built a prototype out of Fan Fold foam for lay-out and fitting issues Got all the parts traced out and cut out and the soaked them in the tub for about an hour... the paper came right off. Got the carbon fiber strips glued on to the leading edges of the wings and the stab and down the center rib for the fuselage, started to assemble the fuselage last night. Will post more photo's soon. Here is the link to the post for this plane...https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...light=Infineon
Everything went together good, and just a few things left to do before trying to fly it... Maiden Pending... Weather permitting... Took the Infineon to work and weighed it... It came out to 16 ounces with 4 of them belonging to the battery. The 2408-21 puts out approx. 21 ounces of thrust with a 8x4 and this puts me at 1.3 ounces of thrust to 1 ounce of weight... would have liked it closer to 1.5 to 1 or higher. Should still fly ok......Continue Reading
