I designed this plane in math class in 1988. I made two. This was the second one. Probably built between 1990 and 1992 after I learned how to bag wings from Jerry Arana and Dean Aldinger. -

An old drawing. One of the hot rods at the time was the RnR Nova and I wanted mine faster. For this, I chose a very strange looking airfoil out of an early computer program which was incorrectly labeled

This is my Phoenix rocket glider. It held up to a powered loop once! Too expensive for motors now, so it only flies once in a while at the slope. -

Jepe Spitfire. Very nice flying plane now that I've added a working rudder. -

This 1.5m hand launch glider flew great from a throw or small bungee. Discus launching killed it. -

The fuse was from a busted pod and boom "regular" hand chucker. I'm going to build a larger version some day because it had great performance -

Built for slope it crashed on the first flight because of a fancy short antenna that didn't work. I repaired it, added an EDF fuselage and crashed it again at the end of the bungee launch. Yaw roll coupling from the tips cause it. Needed more dihedral

This is the start. At each turn, I press the wire down in the slot with these wood sticks. The ends are sanded like a flat blade screwdriver -

This is the first tooth finished. I will wind one tooth with each of the 3 wires before winding the second tooth with this wire. -

All finished. I ran all of the wire together to reduce drag in the duct. -

Fan unit for my -86. Chinese rotor with my own blade stator and carbon/ply shroud. The front of the inlet plug is what's in my hand. -

This was the result of BEC. I should know better and I swear I won't do it again! Actually the controller was fine, but I killed the 20c 2100 pack and that caused a loss of control. -

One of the tandem fans I built for this plane.

The ply ring is just for demonstration. In practice, it would be the whole length of the shroud -

Just cut where they overlap. I mark it and cut a tiny bit long so you can sand it to a perfect fit. -

Here's the big secret of my fans. They are all the size of an aluminum can. Coke is 65mm, the one in the middle is Arizona tea- 75mm and I also use Fosters beer cans- 85mm. -

Here are a bunch of parts for a 118mm fan. This shroud was actually made over a wood and bondo mold. There's also some other stuff in there. Small blade and stator molds. -

One of my earliest units that worked. It still flies in an Alfa F-86
